Do you know about gallbladder disease?
My doctor is sending me for an ultrasound on my gallbladder. I called to ask if there were mild stomach flus going around. I've been having problems with nausea, some vomiting, queasiness, especially when I think about most foods, stomach pain, and difficulty burping. I also have a lot of low back pain but that may be unrelated. When my stomach hurts I sometimes lay down and apply a bit of pressure to my stomach and diaphragm. They feel quite hard.

My doctor tells me that problems with the gallbladder can run a whole range of symptoms from mild to severe attacks. Does anyone have some info. that you could share with me? The online sites I've been to don't really cover the range of severity. I have to wait another month for my ultrasound. That seems excessively long to me. That's our universal healthcare system for you.

Hi, I am now 26 but a few years back. I had my gallbladder removed because ultrasound tests and endoscopies showed stones. My symptoms included heartburn and pain on the right side of me just under my ribcage. Then pain even went all the way through my back(with the pain lasting several hours). I had nausea, and vomited a lot also. Avoid alot of fatty and spicy foods. Once you have you ultrasound ask about and upper endoscopy. This test is very uncomfortable. Although they give you medication that relaxs you and you may even fall asleep. That didnt work for me, I was awake during the first part of the procedure which is the insertion of the tube. That test is well worth it. Along with gallstones, I had polyps in my stomach as well. I now have to have the endoscopy yearly but the biopsy came back abnormal. It was later removed with another endoscopy. Don't be afraid and be persistant. I have been symptom free for a few years now and the procedure worked out great for me. There are some drawbacks to having your gallbladder removed. such as frequent and loose bowel movements that can take up to a year to improve. Google, Gallbladder, gallstones, and endoscopy. You will definitely find what you need to know.

I had a severe gallbladder attack. Mine was from lack of fat in my diet. I didnt have any stones and I refused to even consider allowing them to take it out! I know 7 people who have had their gallbladder removed and they all have more serious health issues now then before. The liver will still produce stones! Ugh! So now 3 of the people I know are going to have surgery one this week as they now need to try to remove the stones from the liver because it is clogging a liver duct and their eyes are turning yellow! I think I would think long and hard and talk to my doctor about alternatives before allowing it to be removed. Go Organic! Eat only organic foods! Be strict in your diet and you may find that some of these health issues you are describing will go away. I had to go very strict in organic as I was also told I was lactose intolerant(I am not I now drink milk everyday) I was told I had celiacs desease nope I eat wheat just fine thank you. But I had to go organic to do it. By the way I added more fat to my diet started doing things that were healthier for my gallbladder and havent had a severe attack in 4 months!

Hey,,, I had my gallbladder attack when i was in my 30's,, from what you have described, I would say that you have a gall stone(s).... throwing up, especially if you eat greasy food.. is one good sign....
Go on and have it removed!!! I waited almost too long and poisoned myself..... and the pain was awful....

Also, I had another stone, even after I had the gallbladder removed....

Good luck,,,
It is like outpatient surgery now!!!! You will feel so much better!!!!

You did not mention attacks of right upper quadrant pain, or jaundice or pain and indigestion after a fatty meal of tenderness over gall bladder on physical. A simple ingestion of dye and x-rays of the gall bladder are simple to do.

see if eating fatty foods brings on the symptoms, thatll tell you with a fair range of certainty that the gb is the prob....when you eat fatty foods the gb tries to pump out bile, if its blocked by a stone itll hurt or create other symptoms.
