I saw an advert on TV showing a monkey in a cage. They asked whether it was right to test a drug on him. I said "No". Then they asked whether it was okay if it would help a man in a wheelchair recover from an incurable disease. It was a difficult one but I decided the answer was still no. What are your thoughts on this - is it right to swap one life for another? Do you believe that all animals are inferior to humans and that it is okay to carryout experiments on them?

I am 45 yr old, single with Macular Degeneration. IT has progressed to the point where I no longer feel it is safe to a drive a car. I now depend on public transportation or my feet. I also need Voca Rehab since i no longer can preform my prev job duties. Honestly, I am going out my mind where I live now which is Modesto, Ca. Any advice I will appreciate. I have a counselor with Voca REhab here in Calif who is not doing her job and I feel that the rug has been pulled out from underneath me. I have talked to the comm of the blind in New Mexico and they seem to have their act together. I am thinking of moving to Sante Fe for Voca Rehab. Any input I will appreciate.

I have been dealing with chronic upper abdominal pain for about 8 years now. It used to be very random...every few months, but when it happened it would last for 2-3 hours and be VERY severe. It started when I was in middle school and my parents thought I was exaggerating and told me it was hunger pains so for about 5 years whenever it happened, I'd try to eat everything in sight to ease the pain. Recently, past year or so, it's become much more frequent (a few times a week) It only happens in the mornings and still lasts a few hours. The only thing I can do is lay down and ride it out. The pain virtually goes away when I lay down. I saw a doctor and he said it was acid-reflux and prescribed Prevacid, but it didn't help. It hurts right below my ribs and above my navel....directly in the center. It's as if someone is stabbing me! Can anyone offer any suggestions or ideas about my condition?

I have a baby brother, he is only 1year old, he always gets too many bumps on his head, after one broose goes away, a few days later he accidently gets another one, he just got another bump on his head 2days ago on an afternoon, that night the bump just got bigger! The bump looked very scary, one time my baby brother got a bad hit on his head, we had to take him to the doctor, I am very worried, I don't want him to have brain damage. He just looks so cute!

I don't understand why everyday I exercise for one hour, then later on I would get dizzy and light headed. I also drink water during and after exercise. I was told by my doctor that I have reactive hypoglycemia. She told me to exercise everyday. And so I did what she told me to. I cant stand the dizziness, it's very frustrating. And I often feel weak. She told me if I don't exercise I would turn to be diabetes. So what should I do if I keep feeling dizzy and how can i exercise if I keep feeling this way. In the morning I wake up feeling fine. Then after the exercise then the symptoms would occur. Help me please. Thanks

Am I crazy or shouldn't these symptoms go away with treatment with meds? My levels are fine with the dose I am taking. Or is it possible I could also have an adrenal gland or cortisol problem? Oh and I also am experiencing shortness of breathe and some heart palpitations.
