I saw an advert on TV showing a monkey in a cage. They asked whether it was right to test a drug on him. I said "No". Then they asked whether it was okay if it would help a man in a wheelchair recover from an incurable disease. It was a difficult one but I decided the answer was still no. What are your thoughts on this - is it right to swap one life for another? Do you believe that all animals are inferior to humans and that it is okay to carryout experiments on them?

I totally disagree with animal testing. They do not only use unadoptable animals they use specially bred dogs, maily beagles. These animals have a miserable existence and some suffer abuse from the lab technicians if they don't tow the line i.e. allow blood to be taken from the vein in their necks without struggling. I have suffered a great deal of trauma from what I have experienced first hand of this practice. It's no good saying only necessary experiments can be done as this is just too ethically difficult to decide so a blanket 'permission' is given to the drugs companies. Each study uses about 50 dogs who only stay alive for 6 months and are then all euthanised. Some of the technicians find this funny....I have seen this! These animals respond to love .... I tried to give it to them....but it didn't save them, probably made it worse for them to accept the cruelty and suffering.

it particularly is an quite confusing question. All animals have intelligence and would experience soreness and journey thoughts. various the attempting out is humane and a few merely isn't. If we stopped the attempting out on animals how would we come across treatments or a treatment for many of of the ailments and ailments that impression the worldwide. i'm an animal lover and would say an common answer is "NO" animals should not be used for attempting out. yet then the question of "What occurs then?" arises. can we enable our inhabitants to succumb to ailment and ailment to guard animals? Animals are being cloned now, can we safeguard their rights besides? they have stem cellular learn can we are saying no to that still? it particularly is an quite great question you asked for YA. i do no longer think of a lot of human beings listed here are properly sufficient geared up to furnish something extra effective than an emotional answer to this question. Which if it particularly is the case then "NO", i do no longer "experience" animals could be used for attempting out. What i think of on the different hand, is how else can we safeguard our society and improve in the medical medical look after our race it particularly is laid low with ailment and ailment.

Yes, absolutely. I would kill as many animals as it takes to save a single human life.

I respect all life but I would always put humans ahead of any other species. However I am certainly against the unnecessarily cruel treatment of animals.

maybe you would feel differently if someone you cared about was suffering and it could be prevented using animal testing.

If your answer is no, then why not become a vegetarian, refuse to wear leather shoes/clothes and volunteer yourself for drug trials.

NO I think it is terrible to do testing on animals - no matter what the reason. If they really need 'test rats' I sincerely think they should use the criminals on death row. They're going to die anyway, they are on death row for a reason - atleast if they did 'animal testing' on them they would serve a purpose before they die. Test something For a human ON a human!

It depends. Frivolous experiments which harm animals isn't justified. Experiments using animals which causes them no harm is always justified. Everything else depends on the potential outcome of the experiment and the potential harm to the animal. It depends.
