My son was diagnosed with autism, but he is not high functioning. I have not found many resources in the area I live in, but first step is: 1. Get a referral from your doctor to have your son professionally tested. He should be able to tell you where. (They should be able to also give you a list of resources)
2. If you get a diagnosis of autism talk to your public school system. My son is 3 and already enrolled in public school. Also apply for disablilty for your son and talk to your Human Services Department about other resources that may be available. The Health Department may know as well.

I don't know, but if your son's doctor think he has Autism then you shouldn't take your son back to him. Find another Doctor!!
