Why are simple treatment for Crohn's, I.B.S., ignored ?

Cause is probably a bacterial infection, ( key word parasites) treatment is what people have used for centuries to treat such common infections such as giardia. (By the way it took me 16 years of suffering to be told by a wise doctor that one test to rule out giardia is not enough, and the testing is not very reliable )

Seems my limited research, the common sense approach to 'intestional problems' strongly suggests an infection, easily treated with ( a wide spectrum anti-biotic), anti-parasitic herbs such as ginger, wormwood, grapefruit seed extract, together with fiber and probiotics, ie friendly bacteria to help digest the food.

So why are all these simple treatments being ignored ?

Why are we spending millions, on funding to raise funding for research and then spending billions to find a 'pharmaceutical cure', when the obvious simple cause and effects are being ignored...?

I have been to the doctors twice a week to check my high white blood cell count. It is at 24.6. I am not noticabally sick, I don't feel sick. Nothing. My grandmother, mother, and sister have all experienced this too. They never found an answer for any of them, they were tested for everything from breast cancer to lukiema. Now I'm going throught the tests, everything is normal? Any insite would be appericated.

Both my husband and I are experiencing this. I am not sure if it is something that is contagious or something that might be in our house creating this feeling.

I have been living in pain for several years, basically after seeing many doctors i have recieved no help, after CT scans x/rays etc all that is clear is that something causes my small bowel to get mildly inflammed causing me to get constipated.

My sysptoms are as follows, after having a good bowel movement or after eating certain foods that i dont think agree with me, i start to feel like i have a sour stomache, usually this starts out on the left sid of the body below the rib cage then it turns into severe bloting and cramping, as if i have severe gas, trapped this pain also appears in my arms as well etc this lasts normally about 2 days whereby it ends with diarhea etc, i also get a fever with it but i think thats due to the infection causing the stomache to hurt.. any ways it goes away after the diahrhea, then comes back as if its a cycle or something, i feel some pain relief when taking a hot shower on the area that hurts? is this IBS?

I've been drying my hair using the electric fan about 8 years because it makes my hair look straighter. I don't use the hair dryer because that can cause split-ends. My elders warned me that what i'm doing is dangerous to my health, but i don't know if they were right. So, please help me find the right answer. Thank you!

Here's what I got. This is a long-term thing that comes and goes. On average, various combinations of symptoms listed below occur at a moderate level once a week. Sometimes more or less severe, sometimes more frequently. Doctors have found no reason thus far:

-chills/feeling flush/inability to control body temperature (no fever, or very low-grade)
-abdominal cramps/discomfort/pain
-nausea (often severe, but very very very rarely vomitting. only twice has it got to that point, in fact)
-diarreah (and the inability to spell, apparently...)
-fatigue/drowsiness/feeling "shaky"
-anxiety/feeling "tense"
-dry mouth
-bad gas (sigh. how embarrassing...)
-inability to concentrate
-heart racing/beating irregularly/chest pain

Yes, there is a history of severe digestive problems in my history.

No, doctors say it's not crohn's (I've had LOTS of tests done).

Yes, I did get bit by a small tick this summer and the bite did get infected and I never got that checked out with a doctor.

My Mum has varicose veins which were operated on a few years ago but are still bad. Yesterday when she was drying herself after a shower one burst and started pumping blood everywhere. I got her to sit down and I put her leg on a stool, put a clean towel on her leg and applied direct pressure to it. It stopped after about 15 minutes and she was ok after. She just had a small hole like a knitting needle puncture in her leg. She hadnt banged or scratched her leg off anything.

I want to know WHY this happened? Is it a sign of something bad. Is it likely to happen again? Also, should she consult her doctor? She hates wasting Doctors time and doesnt want to go as the bleeding stopped but it was really bad. I used 3 bath towels to soak it all up!

She's on asprin and medication for high blood pressure.

No joke answers please. This is my mother and I am very worried.
