There are some 'magical' treatments to be found on the web but none of them seem to be really effective. In reality this is generally a chronic condition which one has to learn to live with. In relatively young person the condition is known to have reversed or minimised itself though rare. But the reality of this condition is that it usually arrives from damage to the nerve endings within the inner ear and that such damage is often irreparable.
Onset of tinnitus is not exactly known though it has been known to be common following head injuries or at times brought about by severe stress and anxiety.
There are some special hearing aids which may generate a high pitched frequency which apparently counters the 'ringing' sound which can be a relief if you're heavily afflicted but there are different types of such 'noises' heared by sufferers.

A good site to visit is:

ive always thought that this might work- because it helps with improing blood flow- which apparently has alot to do with tinitus; after you finish your shower, let the water run cold. Shower in the cold water for one minute before going back to hot water. do this three times before getting out of the shower. Helps with shiny hair, energy and healthy glowing complexion- because it improves blood flow-worth a go!

There is an interesting discussion and recommendations in the book THE ASPIRIN ALTERNATIVE by Dr Mike Loes. There is also a chapter on it in ALTERNATIVE CURES by Bill Gottlieb with helpful advice. Hope you can find something in these references to help. It is a hard condition to treat.
