You will be risking an increase in seizure activity. I work in a group home and a resident I have just went off of phenobarb and he has shown a slight increase. Have you taken any other meds, like depakote. Why do you want off the meds?

If the adult still has epilepsy and the doctor prescribes another medication that may interact with phenobarb, then the adult will be weaned off the phenpbarb. To answer your question though, some side effects with phenobarb are aggression and tiredness
but each person is different so their side effects may vary. Best to consult your physician if there are any side effects

Must be weaned off. Epileptics on phenobarbitol have maximum incidence of suicides. The suicides occur while withdrawing. So withdrawal only under strict supervision.
