I have been living in pain for several years, basically after seeing many doctors i have recieved no help, after CT scans x/rays etc all that is clear is that something causes my small bowel to get mildly inflammed causing me to get constipated.

My sysptoms are as follows, after having a good bowel movement or after eating certain foods that i dont think agree with me, i start to feel like i have a sour stomache, usually this starts out on the left sid of the body below the rib cage then it turns into severe bloting and cramping, as if i have severe gas, trapped this pain also appears in my arms as well etc this lasts normally about 2 days whereby it ends with diarhea etc, i also get a fever with it but i think thats due to the infection causing the stomache to hurt.. any ways it goes away after the diahrhea, then comes back as if its a cycle or something, i feel some pain relief when taking a hot shower on the area that hurts? is this IBS?

Have you had your liver or gallbladder checked? The side where you are having pain are that area. It sounds like you definitely have a digestive disorder of some sort, but I hesistate to tell you for sure it is IBS. It could be IBS and something in addition. Can you get to a Gastroenterologist? You really should see a specialist.

In the mean time, what you eat can definitely make a difference in your symptoms. The more I stay away from high fat foods, cheese, caffeine and red meat, the better I feel. Always be sure to drink a lot of water, but not during your meal...only before or after. Make sure you have lots of fiber in your diet. At first, it will cause gas, but your body will get used to it and work better.

Good luck.

Hi...I have a friend who has IBS and as far as I know, her conditions as follow: She drinks tons & tons of water, eats mainly veggies & fruits & exercise at least 3 times a week, each session lasting minimum 1hr , still she doesn't have the need to go to the toilet for 2 weeks !! During these 2 weeks, her stomach will feel bloated & trapped with gas but there's no way to let all those unwanted stuffs out unless with laxatives...Doctors also cannot do much except to lessen the conditions. Afterall, she was already eating & living the recommended & healthy way...

I hope & pray for you that yours isn't because people who've had it needs to live with it for quite a long time (don't really know if IBS will go away by itself or not).

Try to monitor for yourself, which are the type of food which after consuming will make you ill, try to avoid or substitute them in your diet.

Probably IBS. You can try some "gas-x" and that should help with the pain of gas build up. I have that every once in a while. It can be very painful. I do have IBS at times. After eating really greasy foods, and some foods just don't agree with me. I might like 'em, but they don't like me. Good luck to ya.
