Firstly, it will not prevent you from being pregnant. After having the baby, you can start regular medication that will shrink the cyst. It is even possible to have a procedure to inject each cyst. After the shrinking is completed, you can have the cyst removed by indirect means with a probe. You can also have a laser procedure, the best way.

Is surgery recommended for ovarian cysts?

Q. My wife is suffering from endometriosis and under Gonablock for 8 months, with which it became clear. After 4 months of this she has been getting periods in the middle of the month apart from her regular period. A sonography found small ovarian cysts, which were treated with Duphaston for 5 months but in vain. Again, a transvaginal ultrasound showed endometrioma with 6 cm x 4 cm ovarian cyst. I would like to know if this is curable? Is surgery necessary for the same? Will a cyst recur after surgery? What kind of surgery is the best - cystectomy or hysterectomy? We have one child through c-section who is 10.5 years old. She is 37 years old. Is a gynaecologist competent enough to perform this surgery?

A. Endometriosis is ongoing till such time that ovaries are present.

There are different medical therapies available and if the given drug doesn't work, a next drug is started.

Unless there is a failure to all treatment modalities, one can avoid radical operative procedures. Even after cystectomy, recurrence can occur.

I was diagnosed with 1.8" ovarian cysts and was taking birth control pills per my doctor's suggestions. Weeks and months went by but my ovarian cyst was still there (although it was still the same size). Then I found your amazing book.

During the first week of following this program, I started feeling a lot better and the pain started fading away. It was magical. Nine weeks later, my doctor says that my cyst is gone! I cannot describe how wonderful I feel gazing at the ultrasound results.

I just wish every woman knew about this method. There are so many hopeless women out there that are not even aware there is a natural solution to this problem.

I will warmly recommend this amazing program to all my friends.

I have had so many cysts on my ovaries ... so I hope this helps you out. I have never heard of any meds you can take orally, or by IV to rid a cyst. The pill can help, but you can't take that if you are prego. But the pill will just reduce future cysts not the present one. Ovarian cysts cannot be prevented.

You will have to leave it alone during prego. - unless they can go in vag. and drain it - but that is risky. The cyst can also just pop on it's own - that can be very painful, you will feel like you wanna die!

Your cyst depends on several things, such as your age, whether you are having periods, the size of the cyst, its appearance and your symptoms - such as pain, cramping.

If you're having periods and the cyst is functional (no symptoms), you probably should not need to have surgery. If the cyst doesn't go away after several periods, if it gets larger or if it doesn't look like a functional cyst on an ultrasound - or x-ray , your doctor may want you to remove it - or drain it. I have had many drained at the doctors office. And no, they don't put the needle through your tummy to do this! Most all cysts in the ovary are benign ~not cancer, if you are pre-menopause.

Ovarian cysts can be caused by:

Endometriomas. These develop in women who have endometriosis, when tissue from the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. The tissue may attach to the ovary and form a growth. These cysts can be painful during sexual intercourse and during menstruation. (I HAD THESE).

Cystadenomas. These cysts develop from cells on the outer surface of the ovary. They are often filled with a watery fluid or thick, sticky gel. They can become large and cause pain.

Dermoid cysts. The cells in the ovary are able to make hair, teeth, and other growing tissues that become part of a forming ovarian cyst. These cysts can become large and cause pain.

Polycystic ovaries. The eggs mature within the follicles, or sacs, but the sac doesn't break open to release the egg. The cycle repeats, follicles continue to grow inside the ovary, and cysts form. I have ~ Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome so I get many many many cysts all the time!

Corpus luteum cyst: This type of functional ovarian cyst occurs after an egg has been released from a follicle. After this happens, the follicle becomes what is known as a corpus luteum. If a pregnancy doesn't occur, the corpus luteum usually breaks down and disappears. It may, however, fill with fluid or blood and stay on the ovary. Usually, this cyst is on only 1 side and produces no symptoms

Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen (for example, Advil) may help reduce pelvic pain. Narcotic pain medications by prescription may relieve severe pain - and you will need this if one of these busts because it hurts!

I recently had a very large cyst removed fromy my ovary. From what I understand, they are caused by your period. So, being pregnant should at least prevent more growth. I've also been told that taking birth control pills (and skipping the palcebo week) will stop you from having periods.

To my knowledge, the cysts can be removed via surgury depending on how severe they are, and if they are causing secondary problems. I'm almost positive you can still bear children after having them removed, however, I know alot of women have problems with this. If pregnancy is a concern for you, I just recommend talking with your doctor.
