Hi there, I have extreme shortness of breath at times (like when I try to do ANY sort of exercise or even when I walk up a tiny bit of an incline or try to sing at times)...I had an ultrasound done for my heart (echocardiogram) and I am waiting for the results but since I haven't been contacted I think that the results show that my heart is fine. I also did one of those lung tests where you try to blow out the flames. It showed that my lungs are fine. I DO have very severe reflux. Could the REFLUX be the cause of the shortness of breath?? I don't have any wheezing...Anyone else have trouble breathing due to reflux??

the area where my liver and pancreas are hurts like prickling needles and have heat coming from that area. when I try to eat foods, it makes it hurt more and my tongue feels like it is on fire. I've been tested concerning my liver almost 6 months ago and was told that it could present a problem, but now after being retested and told that there isn't anything wrong..it doesn't add up to me. Also, recently, the whites of my eyes have been turning yellow more frequently..especially when I am feeling that pain in my side. I just want to see if there is anyone out there who has gone through the same thing I have and what they did or told their doctor to help them out. I am afraid that my doctor is doing me more harm than good and am definately considering a 2nd opinion. Thank You.

I have a small lump (5p) size on the back of my head just above where my hairline ends. Its tender to the touch and is annoying me. I have no idea what this could be whatsoever. I had a ear infection last week which has pretty much cleared up but the infection was on the other side so I doubt its related to that. The lump is inside and quite hard. I do suffer psariasis on my scalp and have a few spots near this lump but I have NEVER ever had this before and it does`nt feel like psariasis. Sorry I cant spell it! Do I need to see the doctor or will it just go. I have had it for around 2 days now.

My daughter was taken to Univ. Hospital, Syracuse,N.Y. last Oct. and was tested and told she had TM, since then diagnosis is MS. She is dealing with student doctors, and always ends up with new people. She needs the attention of experienced MS doctors. She has extreme burning in her legs, impaired vision, heavy numb feeling (or lack of feeling) from rib cage to toes. No bladder or colon control. She is willing to be part of a research project. I need to get her help now. Do we have to have physician referral?

I fell down hard on both knees on a slope about a year ago. At the time by right knee swelled up and was extremely painful and I had to have the fluid drained. A year later it is still more swollen than the other knee and if I kneel even for a short time ie bathing the dog it hurts. Will I have to have an op on it?

My 14 year old was diagnosed with narcolepsy and she was prescribed Provigil which I have severe concerns about in terms of side effects. I want to talk to someone her age who actually takes it to find out what the effects have been.

I had a 3 hour glucose tolerance test done because I have many of the symptoms of diabetes. The results, however, showed hypoglycemia. I had a fasting level of 74 but at one hour I had dropped to 47. At two hours it was 51 and at 3 it was 58. My PCP thought that since my blood sugar was still so low after 3 hours that I might have an insulinoma. He said that he really wasn't sure what to do so he referred me to an endocrinologist. What should I expect the endocrinologist to want to do? Also, when my blood sugar was at 47, I still did not feel as bad as I have on several occasions at work. (On one occasion, I basically felt like I was drunk and was having extreme difficulty functioning. My coworkers thought that I looked like I was about to pass out.) How low does one usually have to get to be at risk for serious complications such as loss of consciousness or seizure?

My wife had a thyroidectomy and takes synthroid, calcium, and another supplement. Now she has low iron. She's been checked and doen NOT have internal bleeding. She's taking proferrin, but the doctor says her iron is still low. She recommends doubling the proferrin. Is this the best course, or is there another cause for the low iron? She had a cancerous tumor removed from her leg 8 years ago, but all checkups since then have been clear. Any ideas?
