I am a 48 yo black woman, obese. The pain is ongoing, even though I can still function daily, but it does seem to be getting slightly worse. It hurts to stand up straight after sitting for awhile.

Almost three weeks ago now, I fainted twice. For about four weeks I have had a headache (across forehead) that changes in intensity, but remains. I feel dizzy, tired and weak, and have shortness of breath and palpitations. I bruise very easily, and have been iron deficiency anemic for about 15 years. I had bloodwork done, and I think it shows anemia...still. I have a doctor's appt tomorrow. In the past three weeks, I have developed a slightly raised pink dime sized rash on my left forearm that doesn't itch. My feet are swollen most of the time now. The cbc said that my BUN and CO2 are low. My MCH and MCV and HCT are low. HGB is normal, but on the borderline of low. RDWs are high. What does all of this mean? I feel like I am falling apart! I have had ulcerative colitis for years, and started to have a flare last week. I called the doctor and was put on a corticosteroid until I can go in. The diarrhea stopped. I also have rib pain (mostly tenderness to the touch).

It's constantly in the press how girls and women suffer anorexia or bulimia to be thin. Do men suffer from eating disorders cos I've not come across anything to suggest that they do.

I had a thriving business before the amputation. I had to sell all my assets to pay off my accounts with my venders to a "0" balance, which left me broke. My right leg below the knee was amputated 6/9/06, I'm going to be fitted for a prostetic leg in 2-3 wks. I am unable to work, and my bills are piling up. I've applied for SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS and have been denied twice, I'm currently on WELFARE recieving $300.00 per month and also recieving $150.00 in foodstamps. My family consists of my 2yr old son, my 11yr old daughter, my wife and myself. My rent for housing is $1075.00 per mth., plus electric, gas, telephone, auto insurance. I am currently "3" mths. behind on my rent.I will still be unemployable into the NEW YEAR.Any documentation needed will be supplied to the person, persons or organizations that will assist me with my financial difficulties. My family and friends have helped me and can no longer do so anymorem, I've gone to the churches in my area and can get no more help.

I read that hyperkalemia resembles sleep narcolepsy. I was diagnosed with sleep narcolepsy, how ever, a person who falls asleep due to narcolepsy is supposed to wake up refreshed. In a research study, (peer reviewed) they found the symptoms of hypokalemia to immitate narcolepsy. but i noticed one important difference. People with hypokalemia, don't get the refreshing naps, but can have prolonged muscle weakness, (Which more resembles me) then sleep narcolepsy. I understand that pottassium plays a part in it. Does anyone have input? I am hoping i do not really have this, because it can be life threatening, where sleep paralysis in narcolepsy is not (unless one falls asleep at the wheel) but my sleep is more controlled then just instantly falling asleep. Any info. could really, really help. thanks
