one of the symptoms of diabetes is poor blood circulation; this one of the main reasons why diabetics eventually develop gangrene which will lead to amputation; since the blood is not circulating well, the tissues begin to die off; however, you mentioned the swelling in the face so it may not be the pooling of blood; another cause of swelling and puffiness is beri-beri (usually the extremeties swell); to know if it is beri-beri or not, when you press on the swollen part, it does not spring back at once; beri-beri is normally caused by vitamin B deficiency; with regard to your "no pains for now", it is not necessarily a good sign because one of the symptoms of diabetes is nerve damage; and yes, a malfunctioning of the kidney (and liver) can cause swelling of the extremeties too; it is because the kidneys are not able to drain the body of excess fluids and the fluids tend to settle in the extremeties because that is where the blood flow is weakest (being the farthest from the pumping source - heart); being on insulin means either your pancreas is no longer able to produce the insulin or the insulin produces are defective and cannot do its job; one of the dangers in diabetes is the sugar in the blood is not used and sugar is considered a toxin to the blood (therefore it must be utilized by the cells and tissues as soon as it is released into the bloodstream); without insulin, the sugar cannot be used and this will cause the nerve damage; but there is good news, there are many plant foods that contain the natural insulin the body needs when it cannot use its own insulin (like bitter gourd or bitter melon), cinnamon is also a known combat diabetes;

You need a liver function profile and a second opinion. Your liver may just be trying to fight off an infection. It is best if you call around or call your doctors office and ask for a referral to a urologist or nephrologist for a second opinion. You deserve to know why your in pain and to have answers.
Good Luck!

could be your gallbladder. just because one doc said nothings wrong doesn't make it true. if your labs are alright one day, doesn't mean they will be alright the next. you could be passing gallstones or it could be a hundred other things that your body is compensating for except for the times when it gets overworked. this would explain why sometimes its normal. so see a different doc. its hard for the docs to diagnose a problem sometimes cause every human body is unique. they have textbook guides but most of the time its just hit and miss. keep looking for the doc that will listen to what u are saying. good luck.

Sounds like you need a second opinion. Could be many things... and your liver and pancreas aren't really on the same side of your body.

Sounds likea gall stone, or bile blockage to me. Ask for an ultrasound to check for a small stone. Get that second opinion! Meanwhile, cut down of fatty and fried foods

have you had your gall bladder checked? that could be the cause of some of your symptoms, it could lead to pancriatitis, a simple blood test can tell the doctor if your liver is ailing, the triglycerides & billyrubin would be high.

Sounds like there is something DEFINATELY wrong with you!!
Go seek a second (and possibly a third) opinion!
U can never put your complete trust in ONE persons opinion or tests...
