I have a small lump (5p) size on the back of my head just above where my hairline ends. Its tender to the touch and is annoying me. I have no idea what this could be whatsoever. I had a ear infection last week which has pretty much cleared up but the infection was on the other side so I doubt its related to that. The lump is inside and quite hard. I do suffer psariasis on my scalp and have a few spots near this lump but I have NEVER ever had this before and it does`nt feel like psariasis. Sorry I cant spell it! Do I need to see the doctor or will it just go. I have had it for around 2 days now.

You need to get it checked but with such a recent onset it is not going to anything to worry about, probably just a small cyst or a boil which are resolved easily with 5 mins of face to face medical assessment.

My daughter had what I assume was the same kind of thing a few months ago.
I took her to the Dr. and he said that it was a blocked hair follicle probably caused by not washing the shampoo out of her hair well enough, or just natural oils- Over time it built up and blocked the duct.
He said that it was a "kind of cyst" and eventually would go on its own.

Just to make sure though, I would still go see your GP just to make sure and to put your mind at rest.

Hope it all goes OK for you :o)

Sometimes hair follicles get infected and that can cause this. It may even be a cyst. I would call the doctor and set up an appt.

Everybody has a small lump on the back of their head. It's part of the skull, however if it moves or is soft to the touch then definitely see a doc. good luck.

It may be a sebaceous cyst - my mother had one removed - it is a simple process - see your doctor though!
