Now they are checkiing her for a blood disorder. Everything is very confusing, and we are not sure what is going on with our daughter.

Well I really appriciate everyone's imput. We finally got to sit down with the doctor. She has a non threatening form of Hemophilia called Von Willenbrand's disease. As for what I can figure, and from my research, there isn't enough of a certain protein in her blood. There will be more tests. But she was released from the hospital last night. Everything will be ok. This disorder is very treatable. Thank you all for your concern.

The easy brusing could be as simple as a lack of enough Vitamin C. Low levels can cause bruising.

Hope this is helpful.

Jennifer, my heart goes go to you. You must be scared out of your wits. The doctors are going to be doing a lot of tests, and blood work. The causes can vary from simple things like not enough proteins to the serious ailments. Hold on, sweetie, the waiting is the hardest. I am praying it's just something that a pill can cure or even better a special diet can fix.

Scared and confussed, the doctors should have really sat you down, and explained everything...from the least to the worse case. Hopefully, you won't have to wait long to have the results back from the tests. I have spent a many of hours and days waiting for test results, and the minutes just drag by. If I know what the problem is, then I can deal with it, it's the unknown that scares the hell out of me. Especially when it has to do with my babies. My daughter who is 21 now had to be tested for her heart when she was little. My son who is 16, going on 21, had more than his fair of tests, from high blood pressure, ears, lungs, and stomach ailments.

Please keep us updated on your precious little girl, and I will put her on the prayer chain...and also her family, because Mom and Dad could really use some good news now!

God bless us all...............

Almost an endless variety of reasons. Kids tend to knock into things all the time and as a result get bruises. If you are worried check with her doctor. Leukemia, other blood disorders (like low platelete counts), medications, etc. can all be the culprit. To help with bruising, use the RICE principle: R- Rest the limb bruised I- Ice. Apply ice wrapped in a cloth as soon as the injury occurs C- Compression. A wrapped bandage can speed clotting and help keep the swelling down. E- Elevation. Get the injured part above the heart.

easy bruising can be a sign of several different diseases. anemia and leukemia are two of them. anemia is when the blood doesnt have enough red blood cells and person is perpetually tired and worn out. Leukemia is a cancer of the blood. Medical science has come a long long way in treatment of this disease but i sure hope that is not what is wrong with your child. Good luck

There are many disorders that can cause this. My suggestion is that you ask your doctor. This problem can be related to a bone marrow problem or even a kidney problem. Be sure to mention to your doctors if she is very thirsty, the frequency and amount of urine she does. Does she suffer from cramps? Your doctors should do a creatinine test and also test her blood pressure. I am sure they will sort out what is wrong.

It could well be some kind of blood disorder. Or there could be a vitamin deficiency. Since the doctors are trying to find out what's going on, your best bet is probably to keep working with them.

Good luck!
