My 85 year old mother has a very swelled up, very painful leg. Other leg is OK. This started 10 days ago, she went to the ER – they did a veinous Doppler looking for a blood clot, test came back OK, they diagnosed cellulitis and put her on antibiotics. It improved for a few days, then got bad again, swelled and very painful. Went back to ER, they did some x-rays and gave her pain meds. Her own doc has now referred her to a vascular specialist – appointment is later this week. Doctors don’t seem to be able to figure it out. Has anyone had anything like this or known anyone who has? What was the diagnosis and treatment? Would appreciate any input. Thanks.

OK heres my symptoms..
1)Constant mild upper chest pain (radiates to back right shoulderblade near spine)
2)White tongue coating, esp. after drinking alcohol (possibly thrush?)
3)Gassy and bloated feeling with frequent abdominal gas noises
4)Loose stools (constant)
5)An intermittent popping sensation (like knuckles) in the sternum (costochondritis?)
6)Weak and lethargic
7)Swollen glands in neck
Chest X-ray and Barium swallow came back normal (except for evidence of reflux). Can GERD cause these kinds of problems?
Im a 27yr old Male who has been otherwise healthy in the past... These symptoms have been constant over the last 2 1/2 months. I noticed these symptoms start right after a breakup with my girlfriend. Any ideas? I am getting bloodwork done next week. I am scaring myself with what I read about these symptoms online... Cancer/HIV etc..Is it possible that stress can be the underlying cause of these problems?? Obvioulsy stressing over my health cant be helping either.HELP

Recently I have had slight shaking problems in my hands. The other night, it was hard for me to write. Also, my legs tend to shake uncontrollably on occasion, especially when i am sitting down. Sometimes i will get 'the chills' where I will randomly have a moment where my entire upper body shakes, but then stops. Also, it's almost like I have a heartbeat in my stomach. I put an object on my stomach and it moves in a rythm similair to that of my heart beat. you can see my stomach 'beating'. Is this normal? Do you have any idea what is wrong? I am under 20 years old.

For about two months now, I've had muscle twitches in various muscles throughout my body. They are most frequent in my arms, legs, and eyelid. I also have been experiencing some minor tingling. I have not experienced any cramping or weakness.

I just had what I thought was a cyst removed. And it was tested and came back ( dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans) a cancerous tumor. Now they want to go in a second time and make sure that they got it all. I am so scared to go in a second time. But if I don't there is a really good chance it could come back, but then again it may not. I just want some opinions or if someone else out there has been through this please write. AND also aren't they supposed to do a biopsy before going in, so they know what they are messing with.

I have been dealing with this for about 6 years. It seems to be getting worse. I am only 29 and I feel horrible. I was told I had Lupus in my early 20s but now they are saying Fibromyalgia. My mom passed away in January at age 46 with an autoimmune disease. She was diagnosed as having Lupus in her early 20s also, but the last year she was alive they decided it was not Lupus. She had same symptoms as me but the later part they were worse. She remained active(Ballroom dance lessons, golf) She pushed herself hard to be active and not give in to the disease. She woke up one day and thought she had bronchitis. Tgree days later on oxyegen and died a little over a year later on high dosages of oxygen. They said that whatever autoimmune disease she had attacked her lungs. The doctors told me that I should not worry about the same thing happening to me. All I know is it is not normal to feel this way. Pain and faigue is bad right now. Any suggestions. I am so frustrad. HELP

I had laparoscopic gallbladder surgery this past Friday, 9/01/06. After the surgery the surgeon talked to my husband and told him my gallbladder was in bad shape and had probably been bad for a while and had just started giving me trouble. He also told him there was a complication. He had a hard time getting the gallbladder out and had to cut it out instead of the normal scraping it out..he said he accidently cut a blood vessel and I bled alot during surgery. I haven't been able to talk to the dr who did this yet but was wondering if anyone has had this experience or knows of someone who has?? Should I be worried? I have had so much pain, if my pain meds wear off at all I'm hurting pretty bad. When I started coming to in recovery I was hurting so bad I though I had woke up during surgery..but had been out of surgery for a cpl of hrs. I was begging for pain meds. the nurse said she couldn't give me anymore she had already given me 3 shots of demoral and a percocet pill. normal?

I have many of the symptoms, joint pain, unable to stand cold, headaches. The doctor says that all of my thyroid levels are normal, including my t4, so no treatment is necessary. My thyroidglobulin level was 346. That is what caused my diagnosis. She said that my tyroid will be fine.I feel tired all the time. I walk and eat right. Does anyone have a further suggestions as to how I might treat this from home or with natural remedies since I require no thyroid at this time.

Cant you see that God can only cure illness. Man can only treat. Mankind is busy inventing names for trivial behavioral traits and finding drugs for them!!!!! LOL. This is a true sign that we have definitely lost the vision.

they gave me a 30 pills at .5 mg....she said that if I come in after a month and need more, that I need to take another pill as well. I told the doc I don't want to go back on zoloft or anything, but just want to rely on taking the lorazepam when I need it. I suffer from anxiety, and it really helps. She said if I use it all within a month and need more, than she wants to put me on something else (like zoloft) and I've found I've been needing to use it twice a day. So what do I tell her so that I can continue using the 2 low doses a day......but she won't think I'm a drug addict (I'm not) or that I need something else?

I know this guy who is a raging alcoholic and he sharts in his pants every day. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, sharting is when you fart and excrete fecal matter at the same time. He talks about having stains in all of his underwear. Could this be a result of his drinking?

Currently I am without health insurance (I pay for it monthly through my company, but when it comes time to use it they conveniently lose my information {not my company, but the insurance company}). I am currently experiencing flashes of light in my peripherals (out of the side sides of my eyes) and just now a lymphoid under my right arm has begun to swell and sore. Any idea of what this could be, should I be scared?? Help me.
