You have to be put on a transplant list. You have to be approved by your Doctor for this also. He should be able to provide you with a list of hospitals in your area which do these transplants. You will need his verification to do this.

Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis also has a program for Liver Transplants, there are hospitals through-out the country that do. Talk to your doctor about it, if he doesn't do anything, FIND a new doctor that will send you in the right direction. Transplants are based on need not on where you are in the over-all lists. The one's that need the transplants most, get them first as the right matches come available. There is no 5 year wait for sure. So get into the program you need ASAP and follow their rules and suggestions.

Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. The waiting list for a liver is five or more years. Good luck. I truly mean that.

you will need to discuss this issue with your doctor, but you can call the american liver foundation and they can help you towards the implant list.
