My mother and I have had a discusion on H.I.V aids and Hep C. She believes that they are both the same desease and I say they are not. Can some one please help with the answer to this. She thinks that if you have Hep C it will turn into H.I.V aids, without contracting aids first or having contact with the virus.
My answer was that aids and hep C are 2 different deseases and aids involves the inmune system and Hep C is to do with the liver although I said if you have Hep C you can contact aids if you have contact with aids as you would nornally. If you can answer this question I would love to hear from you. Who is right?

i am having infection and i have done urine culture and found that there is some thing called gram+ bacilli which cased prostatic enlargment
could any one tell me from where i got that
and could i have sex while i am having this problem?

I know that fever - as a defence mechanism - is a natural reaction of body in order to weaken microorganisms through high temperature, so it seems useful. But why physicians try to decrease fever level? Isn't it against the nature?

My nephew has cerebral palsy. He recently went on a trip, where there was a lot of woodland, when he came back his lips and face were blue, since then he has been in hospital for over a week. He has lung disease, he had a biopsy on his lung and it came back saying that he has some sort of disease linked with bats! He has not been bitten, so rabies may be wiped out, he is on a respitory machine in and has been heavily sedated. He has a very low immune system. Fungal infection has also been diagnosed. Can someone please shed any light or send links etc. THX DESPERATE!!!

I have shingles of the face--I've posted a couple of times--thanks for the help on those. Can I take a sleeping pill--Ambien----and the meds for shingles? I take Valtrex, Neurontin and a salve in my eye. Also for hbp, diovan, toprol, and hctz. I've developed such burning pain in my neck, shoulder and arm, and a real problem with my eye, feeling like it has something in it which is driving me crazy!
I saw the opth/ and corneal specialist today. Have drops and was told it's only slightly inflamed and only on the outside white area, not on the front and that's good so far.
Tell me this will get better. They seem to think it will, but it takes time. I see the opth again next week. Didn't sleep much last night. Oh, they also prescribed a creme for the pain on my face, neck and arms and it's not available at several stores around,so won't get it until MOnday. So frustrated. thanks

went to the dr.and he said my alkaline phosphatase was elevated didnt tell me how much though and ast levels slightly up was negative for hepatitis b and c what could be wrong

My friend had an abusive mum who enjoys scratching her face beating her up. the last time i saw her she was bleeding and stuff. i really wanted to follow her to have her hiv test done, i don't think she needs it, she went on her on, she told me she strated crying real bad and wasn't sure if the nurse used clean needles or not..so my question is if she did how long would the symptoms start to show..thank you

I know someone who raises chickens as a hobby and is always out there feeding them and making nesting boxes for them, etc. She hasn't been feeling well lately, she's been sick for almost 3 weeks with nausea, she vomits at least once a day. She has an appetite but then later in the day she gets a tightening in her stomach and throws up. No fever. She also has diarrhea. Could it be something she could have caught from the chickens? I have no other idea of what it could be.

I used a razor from the hotel, and I suspected it's a used one. the razor is suppost to be disposal. what if someone with infectious diseases (eg.HIV, Herpers, Hepatitis) has a bad intention? I just want to make sure I don't have to do the test after back home.
