went to the dr.and he said my alkaline phosphatase was elevated didnt tell me how much though and ast levels slightly up was negative for hepatitis b and c what could be wrong

These are both enzyme tests that can be used to monitor Liver Function. They are also used to evaluate other bodily functions as well - such as heart, and bone. These tests in combination with the Hepatitis tests make me suspect that you have either been jaundiced, have an enlarged liver, or have had abdominal pain recently. Have you had gall bladder problems recently? Are you on medications that require routine liver function testing. Some medications are hard on the liver and routine testing is recommended.
Most lab tests by themselves really don't lead to a definitive diagnosis. They are only clues in a much bigger picture and the physician and patient have to work together to figure out if everything is OK or if there is a problem. Your doctor would have ordered more tests or procedures if there was a reason to be concerned - so I wouldn't loose any sleep over this.
