And is there anything else to avoid with low bp? I'm not on any prescription meds, so no need to worry there...
Thanks!

At the gym before workout I found my blood pressure to be 160/87. I had it checked at my employment and it was about the same. The next 2 times I was at the gym I took my BP before exercising and it was high and afterwards it lower (but still not normal) to about 143/80.

iam 16. i have seen a lot of heart attack cases recently. the death rate because of heart attacks was alarming. i was concerned, though this thought doesn't suit my age. as you know-it's better to be safe than sorry. what could be some of the best things to do in life to maintain a healthy heart and live a long, fit life???

Sometimes (3-6 times a day not everyday), I notice that my heart skips a beat. I told my physician about this and had an EKG done and it came back fine. Had chest X-rays and all came back clean. My doctors say that its normal. Does this happen to anyone? I suffer from panic so I'm thinking I am dieing. It's very uncomfortable because it freaks me out. Can they be mistaking even after all those tests? Help I'm a little nervous!

It can happen several times a day sometimes and other days it does not happen at all. I panic and think it might be small heart attacks I am having and wait for a big one to hit. Then it passes and I am fine again. I dont feel unwell or anything but just wondered if anyone else has had this same problem and if so what it is or at least have an idea what it could be.

I recently have been feeling some discomfort and slight pain in my chest. It has been 3 days now and it's increasing. The feeling is like a fast hard rush of adrenyline that lasts for about 2-5 seconds. Or the same feeling you get when you are driving fast and go down a hill. I have a BP meter and nothing spikes in my BP. It says my heartbeat is normal. I do have slight increased BP at times and am 2 months pregnant. So anyone who has any offers of suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If someone consistantly has a fast heart beat (say 120 per minute plus) without any excertion consistantly for long periods of time, like months, is that dangerous?

Sounds dangerous, but is it really?

Are you aware that elevated blood sugar and severe stress are the REAL enemies, NOT cholesterol in coronary heart disease?

"High blood sugar promotes CHD in numerous ways; it stimulates free radical activity, reduces vitamin C uptake by our cells, impairs the immune system, decreases levels of nitric oxide in our arteries, inhibits the breakdown of blood clots, and dramatically increases glycation, a process in which glucose molecules irreversibly attach themselves to protein and lipid molecules inside the body.. Amoung other things glycation stimulates further free radical production and results in the formation of advanced glycosylation end-products (AGEs), also known as glycoxidation products.

It's a pity so few of us would even have a clue what out fasting blood glucose is because monitoring one's blood glucose levels is a far more useful and widely applicable predictor of one's future mortality risk than one's cholesterol levels. "

My heart feels like it is fluttering around - and I can't seem to get it to stop. It goes for like 1 second, then stops, then returns about 30 seconds later. I get this when I'm under a lot of pressure

my husband had broken out with a terrible -- terrible rash on his legs and feet in the last month . Also he has tiny little blood blisters all over his body and great itching. the doctor is telling him that coumadin is not the cause. I beleive that it is the cause. As he's not taking anything different. He has been on this stuff since last june since the suspicion of a blood clot appeared. the doctor even addmitted that it could also be arthrits instead of a clot. the tiny lump is located in the joint of his right knee. He still has the tiny lump.
Can anyone come with a possible alternative? They are telling him that he has to take this for life. which is hard for me to accept as he has not had a heart attack or a stroke. please help us if you can
Thank You
