Sometimes (3-6 times a day not everyday), I notice that my heart skips a beat. I told my physician about this and had an EKG done and it came back fine. Had chest X-rays and all came back clean. My doctors say that its normal. Does this happen to anyone? I suffer from panic so I'm thinking I am dieing. It's very uncomfortable because it freaks me out. Can they be mistaking even after all those tests? Help I'm a little nervous!

It is completely normal and entirely safe.
They are not mistaken. Almost every single person has them. About 40% of us feel them. You can have a few a day, even hundreds or thousands a day, but in the vast majority of cases it is perfectly harmless. They are usually premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). I've had them for years. I can go through a 'bad spell' where I have hundreds a day for a couple of weeks, and then back to having none at all for a few months.
The tests aren't wrong. The docs aren't wrong. It can feel scary, but the sooner you accept that it is normal, and understand that although they feel weird, they are not in any way dangerous, the better you will feel mentally.

When I'm having a 'bad spell', I find that magnesium supplements help, as well as getting enough sleep (9 hours a night if I can)

it sounds like you have a bit of anxiety. if you have suffered trauma in your life it will worsen the symptoms as well. its best to try to see what the trigger is for you. we all have a trigger that will set off the panic attack. once you figure it out you can try to take away the power it has over you and it will become more manageable in the future with hard work and learning how to recognize it. be kind to yourself and give yourself the time you need to help yourself right now. dont go to the doctor for meds try to figure out the problem causing the event. each time it happens it will scare you less and less it will become like a little warning that you are not dealing with whatever is your trigger. also .....PRAY.....God loves you and will help you if you ask Him

Hello. I am going through the same thing. I have an anxiety disorder and a week before Christmas was rushed to hospital because i thought i was dying, after having a ECG, having my Oxygen levels and blood pressure checked to be told i was fine was a bit strange. Its because we have something that makes us panic and its quite hard for us to calm ourselves down. sometimes even just listening to my heart beat makes me have a panic attack and its hard to control. Its quite hard to say this but your heartbeat does skip a few times and is natural to do so. but because were fixated on the minor noises or movements our body makes we panic. I sometimes try and tell myself this but i do know its hard to take in when you think there is something wrong with you. see your GP for advice.Your not about to die its quite normal and dint worry your not mad and going through this alone.xxxx

p.s Check out National Phobics Society website it deals with ppl who have anxiety and panic attacks

Good look xxxxxxxxxx

as long as you are not feeling any pain, just be normal. it is your mind that is saying that something is wrong, but your doctor is absolutely right. they know all the symptoms.
