It could be any number of things, but it is not a heart attack. Believe me, the pain stays with you. It does not come and go. It could be what afflicts me from time to time (thanks to all of my cardiac and cholesterol medication)... GAS! I'm a machine!
In any case, see your doctor. It might be a good idea for him to recommend a cardiologist, just to be on the safe side. My GP once told me that he couldn't tell "jack" from listening through the stethoscope aside from heart rate and strength.

If it is a shooting pain it will most likely be heartburn, go into your chemist and ask for gaviscon- it is the best thing out there for it. However if the pains feel like dull crushing pains then it could be your heart so this would be better getting checked out by your GP. If it is heartburn then ask your local chemist for some tips to help prevent it. There are loads of things you can do.

It can be due to gas trouble or muscular pain. Whenever you have such pain, drink a soda and see. You will get some belching and feel relief. If it is due to gas, then take some treatment for gas trouble. To be very safe, consult a cardiologist once so that major problem can be ruled out.

heart pains? could be, either way see a doctor, even if they say nothing to worry about or blame it on anxiety, at least you wont be in mortal danger.
It only takes on heart attack and the ambulance to be held up/ you not to be around people who can help, for you to die.Why take chances?

you are not having a heart attack and trust me you would know if you were.
there is little to go on here but it could be something to do with digestion, heart burn. i would need to know if there anyother symptoms such as shortness of breath, tachycardia, hypertension etc to tell you if it anything to do with the heart. get it checked anyway to ease your mind if nothing else.

Could be nothing, could be minor, could be miniture heart attacks... Could just be gas. Could be a simple anxiety attack.
In any case, for the sake of your sanity and (possibly) life...SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!
