mention my weight. When I asked JustAnswers experts about a new kicboxing routine I enjoy they said it's ok unless you have blood pressure or cholesterol issues. So if Dr.'s aren't medicating me or aren't concerned with my weight why is cholesterol and issue? P.S. Most people in Philly do the pizza and cheesteak diet like I do and for years they've had no problems. So what gives??

I consulted to a doctor last feb. and i took ecg and it was inverted t-wave. He told me that if I were a 40 y/o it can be IHD, I think he wasnt sure about my heart disease and he prescribed inderal 10mg twice a day. After my second ecg it was quiet good but I still I feel my chest pain but not that often. I am afraid to diagnosed such kind of disease and I'm more afraid maybe I can't able carry and deliver a child anymore.

My mother is 41 years old, and she is in good health, but she does have a past, heart murmor.

She is experiencing SUDDEN shartp tingly, pain in her left arm, and she feels pain hitting her in the upper back as well...
she says her left arm and especially her left hand, feels SO COLD on the INSIDE of her body...she feels like someone is twisting her arm on the inside, and she is in alot of pain. she felt slightly nauseated while this was going on as well, but it wasnt as significantly noticable or bothersom, as the cold/pain in her left arm/hand....

any doctors ever heard of anything like this? is this serious that i should take her to the emergency room tonite? im mostly worried about anything stroke, or heart attack related...are these symptoms or possibilties? i am really worried please, i just need real MEDICAL answers, doctors, nurses..please....

thanks in advance.

I went to the doctor and he told me if my lipid panel did not improve he was going to consider putting me on cholesterol lowering drugs. I know from past experience these meds are hard on the liver. I would rather go the natural route which he suggested fish oil tablets every day. If I stop eating this weekend, will my triglycerides go down before my next blood draw? I been cheating on my diet really bad and need to get my cholesterol down.

dear all,

my mother have consumed hypertension medication for ten years, but recently her blood pressure is still quite high.. there are times it reached to 170/100.

Currently she consumes "Tensifax", which contained Amlodipine 5mg. And yesterday, her dr suggest her to increase the dosage to 10mg.

What do you think of this increase? Is there any side effect? By then, it's impossible to decrease it again?

Fyi, she is diagnosed with arythmia before although last checking by cardiologist, it seems normal.

Thanks a lot for all your answers.

Some time ago I noticed my heartbeat was not regular, so I went to see a Dr. They took some blood samples for tests on aneamia and thyroid problem but they came back fine. Then I had a test where they put little stickers around my heart and on legs (I can't remember what it was called) for about 1 minute, but during that time my heart behaved normally so my Dr said that my heart was fine and just to keep an eye on it.
Now, I am confused. How can it be normal when, especially in the evening and after a shower my heart does that funny thing, it sort of flutters, I feel it in my chest, it sort of beats twice in a row, difficult to explain. Is this really normal?
I'm only 30, by the way, so don't say it's my age. I am worried.

I am 33 year old male and had an echocardiogram a year ago that showed my left ventricle to be 5.9 centimeters. Six months ago it was interpreted as 6.3 cm based on echo. All other measurements are within normal range...no leaking valves or walls that are too thick. I have many pvcs, and have had them for years, though they seem to get worse with age. I take toprol and and ace (lisinopril). I had two ablations about a year ago for SVT which is cured, but the pvcs seem to be more prevalent now, especially first thing in the morning and after eating. I am curious how serious this enlargement is...like is it more on the mild side or the severe side of the enlargement distribution? I have also had an MRI which showed no ARVD and normal wall motion. Could the drugs I am on, which have only been on toprol for last six months have helped my left ventricle decrease in size despite my many pvcs?

I listened and heard it myself- it's heard just before the next beat is heard, but only a few times a minute. I've been told before that i had an irregular heart beat, and that dr. didn't seem to think it was that big of a deal. I'm very healthy otherwise, just turned 34 yrs old. What is the difference between murmur and irregularity? Should I be concerned? And are there any restrictions I should know of??
