I was told by the mental health authority that I do not have a heart problem and that this is anxiety neurosis.
But if they are now saying that they have detected a heart irregularity, then if it is treated; does this mean that I can sue the NHS or claim compensation.

It is on the grounds that they assumed that I had anxiety neurosis, neglecting the possibility that there may be a physical problem.

According to the parliment you can claim 20,000 pounds.

I have been diagnosed with what the cardiologist called a moderate dilation of the aorta. From the scan they did, they measured what they said was a normal section of the aorta at 2.5cm. The dilated section measured 4cm. I am 6'4" and the doctors said this would be more serious for a smaller person. I am being treated with anti-hyperternsive medications. He also said that I will need to come back in for a scan every year so that they can monitor the dilation and make sure it doesn't get any larger. The doctor said he doesn't think it will return to normal size, that the best we can hope is that it doesn't increase and require surgical repair. Can anyone offer their experience? Thanks.

My grandfather has been taken to the hospital complaining that he can't feel his legs or one of his arms. They did an EKG and said there is no evidence of a stroke. What other medical conditions can cause this? Is it possible that he had a stroke and it is not showing up on the EKG for some reason?

marketing the GI drug Zelnorm??? This is the best medicine I've ever had. I just very recently got put back on it. If this is true then does anyone know of a good alternative for it?? I accidently came across the FDA website when I was checking out the pet food recalls. If this was true, wouldn't we have heard something on the news about it since it's a very popular drug??

FDA Announces Discontinued Marketing of GI Drug, Zelnorm, for Safety Reasons
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has requested that Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation of East Hanover, New Jersey, voluntarily discontinue marketing of Zelnorm (tegaserod) based on the recently identified finding of an increased risk of serious cardiovascular adverse events (heart problems) associated with use of the drug. Novartis has agreed to voluntarily suspend marketing of the drug in the United States.

Zelnorm is a prescription medicine approved in July 2002 for short-term treatment of women with irritable bowel syndr

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyrioditis (Autoimmune Thyroid disease) about 5 years ago The Doctor gave me Synthetic thyroid hormones... Synthroid and Levoxyl about 6 months later I would develope chest pain with in an hour of taking my meds. Over the years it got worse. To the point I went to the ER for treatment they said, my meds were working too well and that my symptoms were Tachycardia. They took me off all meds, but I am now feelings the effects from my thyroid and even after stopping I still have heart episodes. I never have had heart problems until I started taking meds. Is there anyway I can treat one condition without affecting the other?

My dad (71 yrs old) was just told that his kidneys are functioning at 65%. How serious is this and would he have to go on dialysis eventually? He's been seriously ill within the past 10 months. It started with a stroke, then they installed a pace maker because of heart problems (IHSS), then his medicine caused internal bleeding (lost 9 units of blood), then he had emergency gall bladder surgery and has numerous gout attacks because of all the stress. Now we get this news. What are the options for this?

I get these strange chest pains pretty frequently now (before they would be every once in a while). It starts on the right side of my chest, kinda high and close to my shoulder, then the pain radiates to my right shoulder and down my right arm. It's pretty painful, and I can't use my right arm for the few minutes that they last. Whenever they come, I can feel my muscles knot right above where they start, and I feel like my heart is racing all the time, not just when I have the pains.
Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm not sure if it's heart problems, because it's on my right side. Any help?

I'm 19. I took a chest xray in 2006 which came back normal and took another one 2 weeks ago. The doctor said that everything appeared normal except one thing. My heart has slightly enlarged since my last chest xray in 2006, but it is still in normal limits.

Now I am being referred to the cardiologist which I already set up an apppointment for.

I do not have high blood pressure and my general doctor said my heart rate seems normal and he does not hear any murmurs when checking me.

However, I have gained more than 10 pounds within the year which everyone has been noticing becuase they ask if I am getting fatter. I've been less active and lately I've been having shortness of breath and heavy breathing from doing little things. But in PE I am still able to run 15 minutes on the treadmill without gasping for air. I don't know, its wierd. I am a very anxious person, so there is also a chance that part of my breathing problem is that.

Is this cardiomyopathy? Heart failure? Or what?

I have untreated high blood pressure (usually around 144/99). I am taking my blood pressure each day to monitor the situation and establish what level I am at. I know I need to go on medication, but I want a medication that will have few side effects. I am particularly concerned about sexual side effects and I would still like to be able to have a couple drinks now and again.
