I get these strange chest pains pretty frequently now (before they would be every once in a while). It starts on the right side of my chest, kinda high and close to my shoulder, then the pain radiates to my right shoulder and down my right arm. It's pretty painful, and I can't use my right arm for the few minutes that they last. Whenever they come, I can feel my muscles knot right above where they start, and I feel like my heart is racing all the time, not just when I have the pains.
Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm not sure if it's heart problems, because it's on my right side. Any help?

I have gone to the doctor? She put it off as stress and ignored my worry.

Sorry, that should be 'I have gone to the doctor!', with an exclamation point!

heart problems can be felt anywhere in your body, your face, chest, back...have a Dr test your thyroid, (ANA) for Lupus, for MS, for diabetes....heart problems usually start with something else...if you don't eat correctly or exercise too much, you may have depleted your salt/potassium levels...have some gatorade...(don't drink so much caffine, in coffee, tea or soda...)

Just because its on your right side does not exclude heart problems. I had a 98% blockage and my pain started with shooting pain down my right arm and i felt like I couldn't lift my arm it hurt so bad. Go see your doctor or better yet if you are in pain now go to the ER immediately! Best wishes.

It sounds like stress, but a doctor can rule heart problems in or out pretty quickly. Get checked out by a doctor immediately.

It depends on many things.
Age......family history.....cardiac risk factors such as smoking , drinking ....or taking medication (illegal or legal), obesity, high blood pressure.
Not a good idea to get diagnosed on this forum.
Best to go to the doctor for EKG and other blood tests to rule out heart problems.
Could be.....muscle pull, gallbladder, or panic attack.
If the pain persists with shortness of breath, sweating , weakness and severe chest pain. Best to call an ambulance.
Either way.....best to get checked.....for peace of mind.
Good Luck!

It's doubtful that it's anything with your heart. Probably a nerve thing in your arm and your heart is just panicking because your brain is. See a doctor if you are concerned...never hurts to check.

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND HAVE THEM RUN A TREADMILL TEST AND AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM NOW!

What you're presenting with could be as simple as stress-induced angina, or it could be an indication of major problems! Talk with your parents, teachers, etc. AND GET TO A CARDIOLOGIST!

It's common for gallstones to cause the type of pain you describe. If it persists, get checked.
