Anything with cholesterol. Cholesterol comes from ONLY animal products, so cheese, meat, eggs, milk, etc.

Hi there,
Cholesterol clogs arteries BUT there is a HUGE difference between dietary cholesterol and the cholesterol that the body naturally produces. Which causes the arteries to get bunged up? It's not dietary cholesterol! Doctors recognize now that people who have a predispostion to high cholesterol due to genetic make up have to watch what they eat. But the cholesterol that you eat does not cause your cholesterol levels to rise; if you have a predisposition you don't want to add fuel to the fire.
For a while my cholesterol and tryglicerides where high and my doctor got to a point where he was worried. But he always knew that the rise in cholesterol was a side effect of a medication I was on. Do I eat cholesterol...tonnes! I am a huge egg and cheese fan; these are part of my staple diet and I never do low fat anything. I do not have a genetic predisposition to cholesterol that I am aware of and I no longer have elevated lipid levels (I've switched medications wheich casued the rise in the first place and things are back down to normal). If you are worried, fish oils really do help if taken in the proper dose. A theraputic dose (theraputic since your levels are elevastated and you need to bring them back down) of fish oil (not cod liver) is 3000-4000 mg/day. Most supplements do not have such high doses so it requires more than what the bottle recommends.
To help avoid heart disease, exercise will help keep your heart healthy. If your family has a history of high cholesterol you will need to be careful and watch what you eat. Other wise, I wouldn't worry about it especially if you are not overweight.
Cheers.

Saturated Fat and Cholostoral clogs arteries.
If you eat cheeses made with part skim milk (ie: Swiss, Provolone, Jarlsberg, Mild Chedder, etc) you should be fine. They are actually very healthy for you.
Other things that clog arteries: fatty meats, poultry skin, etc

Yeah that saturated fat sure colgs arteries just like it "clogged" all those populations that eat a diet RICH in saturate dfat and have VERY LOW rates of coornary heart disease like
THE MASAI '
THE DINKAS
THE SAMBURU
THE FRENCH
THE INUITS
THE CRETANS
THE TOKELUANS
THE INUITS
The French eat MAJOR saturated fat and have the LOWEST RATE OF CORONARY DISEASE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN AND THE WHOLE WEST
The Swedes, WHO EAT A DIET RICH IN SATUARTE D FAT are SECOND on the longevity ladder behind the Japanese
In 1961 Greece NOT Japan held the longevity record
Japan currently holds the record
In 2001 saturated fat intake had risen 260 % above its 1961 levels. If saturated fat were harmful then SOEMONE FORGOT TO TELL THE JAPANESE FOR THEIR ASCENDANCY TO THE TOP OF THE LONGEVITY LADDER DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE HARMED IN ANY WAY FROM INCREASING SATURATED FAT CONSUMPTION
SEE RAZWELL'S ARTICLE ON WHY THE SEVEN COUNTRIES STUDY IS DECEPTION AND FRAUD.
THE LIPID HYPOTHESIS IS A TOTAL FRAUD.
A COMPLETE FAILURE.

anything with saturated fat clogs the arteries, like fatty foods. trans fats are the worst, which jhappens when oil is heated at high temperatures. most snack foods like donuts and chips have high levels of trans fats. saturated fats are in foods like butter, eggs, cheese, and cake.

Most of the answers here are pretty good.
Ignore Razwell and Michael (another personality). They think that 95% of the world medical community are evil and out to deceive everyone.
