yes, sleeping on your left side does cause stress to your heart. The lungs put pressure on your heart which causes your heart to work harder than needed while sleeping. If you are having a hard time sleeping or have been told that you stop breathing while sleeping this could be why. Try another position and happy sleeping

That applies to pregnant women. The blood supply that goes to the rest of the body and to the body will be hampered if you lie on your left side - well for pregnant women. so we advise pregnant women to elevate their left side with a rolled towel to prevent this to happen.
mind you this is not an old wives tale or urban myth.

That's strange because I heard that it's good for your heart if you sleep on your left side.

sleeping on either side or on your stomach can strain your heart and lungs just from the weight of your body. it's best to sleep on your back.

For poison first aid treatment, you are suppose to lie the victim on their left side. I don't know if its to slow the digestive system or if it has to do with the heart?

From experience i know it can cause problems if you have an irregular heartbeat. Laying on my right side or my back eases that problem quite a bit.

there is not any medical information that slumbering in a given place is undesirable or good for the middle. despite place is maximum restful is in all risk geared as much as you. slumbering—on your left edge, your suited edge or putting from the ceiling—is sweet for the middle.
