It's been 2 years ago when I was diagnosed to have such heart problem, but just recently, my doctor said that I am OK.

However, I still feel chest tightening mostly at about 3am to 5am, and it awakens me in my sleep. Should I ignore it or is it just normal for a 49 year old like me. What shall I do?

By the way what have caused my illness. We have no history of heart disease in the family.

One year ago I had mild to moderate aortic insufficency, this years echo showed that the aortic regurgatation is now moderate; also all of the other valves are regurgating mildly. Basically all of the valves in my heart are leaking, I am 39 years old and taking 5 pills a day for my heart; 3 hydralazine and 2 clonidine. Just how serious is this condition? I stay tired all the time. I do have a history of heart disease in my family. Anyone familar with this condition or medications to treat it?

My mom has constant chest pain all day long, it really hurts when she sneezes & coughs, and she can't walk for more than 10 mins - she gets really dizzy and weak. She's not a smoker and doesn't drink. It started 2 weeks ago, and was rushed to the hospital. They did the EKG thing and immediately scheduled her for a stress test which actually came out normal. They gave her some pills for Vertigo but she gets really tired afterwards and doesn't want to take them because she ends up sleeping in and is late for work. They finally did some blood work on Fri. but still hasn't gotten back to her.

So since her Dr.'s are kind of slow, I would like to know if anyone has/had a similar problem and if there's anything extra we should have her Dr's test her for instead of waiting every week to do another test, and if there's anything over the counter you'd suggest to help relieve the pain (she's tried aspirin which didn't help).

Thanks soooooo much in advance!!!!

I have been having strong palpitations for weeks now everyday. I had a ekg done at the emrengcy room it was normal. I had a monitor on for 30 days in 2005 and a echo cardiogram also. Came back fine also. I went to my dcotors office last week and he said it was from stress and anxiety. I do have panic attacks and anxiety and being treated for them with medicine. Even when I am not having a panic attack I am still having these palpitations everyday on and off all day long. I do not have them when I am asleep or laying down to relax. I am scared and don't know if it is my nerves or what. What should I do ? Should I call the doctor and make him give me a stress test even though he said I was fine. My mind will not feel at ease until I know for sure it is just anxiety and not heart related.

My mother went for a EKG , it showed irregularities so the Doc sent her for a stress test. It turns out that she had a heart attack at some point. We have no idea when...the only we know is that it was aleast 6 months ago and that it damaged the front of her heart. The doc has now set her up to get a Cardiac Catherization. She is only going to be 47 this year. Can someone please tell me what to expect and anything that they might know about heart attacks. My mother had no idea she had a heart attack. She only got the EKG because the doc wanted her to lose some weight and he wanted to give her pills. Shes not obese or anything like that..she only needs to loose about 20lbs.

How can someone have a heart attack and not even know it? Is it better to have had the heart attack 10 years ago or 2 years ago? I am very scared and confused. I need someone to break this all down for me so I can deal with it...thank you!

I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, and have been having lots and lots of pvc's lately. I go to the cardiologist once a year, and was just there in dec, and he said everything was fine. I have always had them from time to time, but the past 2 months or so, some days I can have several a minute. They are very disturbing. I really started noticing them pretty soon after I got off my antidepressants. Does anyone out there suffer from these, and are there things I can do to help myself from getting them so often?? I get scared sometimes when they are happening that something is majorly wrong, then I make it worse by getting anxious! Any advice with this will be very helpful!
Thanks.
