chest pain radiating from jaw down to left arm, which may become numb and tingly also, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting may occur. If this happens call 911 immediatly, take a bayer aspirin, and never drive yourself to the ER.

Malfunction of the heart is a heart attack. Could be closed arteries of plaque, Too high a blood pressue for heart to pump, bad valves, herniated heart, just to name a few causes.

Now a stroke, that is entirely different thing. That is a blood shortage to the brain, and destruction of brain cells that control the body functions, and disability will occur, to what extent depends on how fast and what treatments, could be total left side of face and left disfunction. Could be total dibillation.

The actual heart attack is caused by blockage of an artery (large or small) leading to part (again large or small) of the heart.
The blockage can be either by a clot or a rupture of existing atherosclerotic plaque.
