Please, please consider consulting a Homoeopath. I treat a LOT of patients with hypertension - some have presented with extremely high readings. All are fed up with conventional medicines & the side effects & after some treatment with homeoopathy, their blood pressure is within normal limits & well controlled. Visit www.homeopathy-soh.org to find a registered practitioner local to you. I assure you that you will get good results but you need to bear in mind that the treatment is about finding the correct homoeopathic remedy for you with your blood pressure problems & not about finding a remedy for your blood pressure. Your hypertension is a RESULT of an underlying imbalance & it's this that needs treatment. Conventional medicine fails to understand this point entirely. I have many, many satisfied ex-hypertensive patients who are very pleased not to have to take drugs any more.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Sorry, why on earth can't you take medication? There are dozens of different possible choices in many different drug classes.
Being the correct weight, having a low salt intake and taking regular vigorous exercise will all help to lower your BP, however without medication all of this is still not likely to be enough.
There are of course no herbal of homeopathic preparations that will be useful.

Hello There ,
glad to meet another like me. I also cannot take many-many of the HBP meds that are available. So far I have been on at least 30 different kinds since 2001. The best answer you have received is from the nurse who suggested that you go to the homeopathy-soh.org web site. I have all kinds of problems with all of the modern chemically made medicines.
If the truth be known there are many-many of us out there who are having all kinds of reactions and pain from their meds and are totally unaware that it's meds that's the cause.
Good Luck

Improving your diet by adding more veggies and taking out a lot of fat and as much salt as possible will help. I have also added fresh and sauteed ginger (gingeroot) to my diet and that has helped lower my blood pressure a great deal.
Drinking water and cranberry juice to stay hydrated and keep the digestive system working well will also help.
Exercise is important as well as cutting out as much stress as possible will lower your pressure as well.
If you smoke, quit as quickly as possible, or cut back as that creates more strain on your blood vessels and arteries, which increases your blood pressure as well. Smoking will clog and constrict your arteries, which makes it more difficult for you heart and entire circulatory system to work.
I had to do tons of research on my own, and ask my doctor and other medical professionals for suggestions about what could work for me. The Internet has lots of suggestions and research if you just type in high blood pressure.
Good luck and good for you for taking your health into your own hands and searching for alternatives to conventional medication.

Regular excercise, quit smoking if you do, cut right down on alcohol, lose weight if you're overweight, follow a low fat diet. Excercise is very important.
Yes, cut out the salt! Knew I'd forgotten something!

There are hundreds of different types of anti hypertensive drugs on the market, many do not have the side effects has the older ones,I'm sure one of these you will be able to tolerate. You can do allot for yourself to alleviate your condition, eating healthy, diet and exercise,de-stressing techniques like meditation and yoga etc.You have to want to help yourself, frankly I've never heard of anyone "allergic"or unable to tolerate all the HBP med"s.Take care.
