An electro cardiogram is a picture of the electrical conduction of the heart. There is a normal pattern; anything that is abnormal means electricity is not being conducted normally. This could mean you have had a heart attack and some of the muscle has died or it could mean that the electricity is just going down the wrong "pathway". A doctor must make that diagnosis.

An echocardiogram is a sonogram of the heart. It will show how well the heart beats and how the blood goes through the heart.

You could still have "issues" with these negative tests in certain conditions. For instance, an electro cardiogram will show negative at rest and positive with exercise if you have a blockage that restricts blood flow that the heart muscle needs in order to work properly under stress.

If you believe you have heart problems, see a cardiologist. He is the one who can tell you for sure.

Very accurate! And no pain whatsoever.
I had mine as part of a general physical. It uncovered a very. very minor problem, so minor the doctor said not to worry about it.

They are like a "snapshot" of what's going on right at the
moment. Like if you're having an irregular heartbeat and
they hook you up to it. But my husband had one and they
said he was ok, and a month later he died of a massive
heart attack.
