You've got the right guy here. I'm a registered Radiologic Technologist. There is no "maximum" amount. It is dose dependant. You wouldn't want to receive over say 10 rads. I'd start to get worried at anything over 30 minutes under the beam. 25 rads causes measurable changes in your blood count. 300 rads will cause major problems. I hope that puts it in prospective. I am not sure. I had a radiofrequency ablation and everyone except me had on a lead vest. I heard they can leave you under fluoro for hours and hours. They also say it is a very small amount of radiation, so its nothing to worry about.
