Is it natural to feel tired and listless all the time? I am puzzled as to why I feel like this. I do and try to execise each day but sometimes it is such not possible. Under doctors supervision, but he doesn't think tiredness is linked to my heart condition. Have had blood tests for anemia but that was all clear. Quite concerned as I see to have no quality of life these days. Not feeling sorry for myself would just like to know what is happening to me

If a person survives cardiac arrest, what are the mental deficits that can be expected? Can a person regain 100% of brain function or is the brain irreparably damaged?

Whenever a new heart patient comes to the hospital, it is routine to ask if the patient smokes, exercises, eats right, takes good care of his or her diabetes or blood pressure. It seems that these questions may somehow make the patients feel guilty; guilty of bringing the problem on themselves.
Against this background, I wonder if there is a stigma attached to heart disease. And if this stigma prevents some people from seeking medical attention.
If you have had heart disease, here are my two questions:
- Did you feel like people made you feel like you single-handedly brought it to yourself?
- Do you think a perceived stigma attached to heart disease may have delayed your seeking medical attention?

My Cholesterol was high (250), then I started taking virgin coconut oil. A few weeks later, my cholesterol went up to 260! They say that when you take VCO it goes straight to your liver and therefore it does not go to your blood stream and that's reason it won't affect your cholesterol level. Now I doubt these claims.

Don't worry; I'm not having a heart attack, although a coworker had a scare the other day. It made me wonder how that usually works. In other words, how does a heart attack cause shooting pain down the left arm?

Should people with coronary heart disease avoid all alcohol? Is red wine is an exception? What would be your advice to some one who has not been taking alcohol all these years? (... except a few glasses of beer / vodka over the years.)

give it so much importance sometimes my heart beats so much that my pressure goes up and I even get migrane headaches. I have taken my pulse it it beats at 120 to 150 per minute. What can I do?

It doesnt really hurt just feels strange. Its hard to even describe the feeling except just that I know something feels weird and out of the ordinary. My pulse rate seems fine so I dont know what it could be. Sometimes i guess it could be described as a feeling like i put vicks rub or icy hot on my chest. I am 27 years old so I wouldnt think it would be a heart attack related. Any ideas?

I am 42 years old and had something called AV node re-entry. After 18 plus years of having terrible heart arrythmias, I referred myself to a physician and went to a consult not very optomistic he could fix me. He did! Wow what a change in my whole life! Just talking about it brings me to tears. I had such a bad arrythmia, I was afraid to go anywhere or do anything. As a RN, I work with heart doctors who did not encourage me to have the procedure and people made jokes about me dying on the table and told me horror stories about the procedure. I went into the cath lab with tears rolling down my face terrified out of my gord he was going to kill me on the table. In less than 1/2 hr I was fixed. I owe my entire sanity to this electrophysiologist who fixed me. He has made such a change in my life and I cannot begin to express how thankful I am he took the time to fix the problem I kept downplaying because I didnt want people to keep worrying me. I was scared.
