My Cholesterol was high (250), then I started taking virgin coconut oil. A few weeks later, my cholesterol went up to 260! They say that when you take VCO it goes straight to your liver and therefore it does not go to your blood stream and that's reason it won't affect your cholesterol level. Now I doubt these claims.

sorry you had to learn the hard way. Coconut oil is one of the worst on the body, virgin or otherwise. It is loaded with transfats, and goes straight to your arteries, not your liver.

Food is taken up from the gut (stomach, intestines) into the portal blood system and is thereby transported to the liver. All food goes the same way. All food makes its first stop at the liver, but it only does so by traveling through the blood.
