My brother had a heart bypass surgery very recently. Thanks to God, he is ok. But after the surgery he faced problem in his left leg. As per his doctor the vein isn't taken from his leg. The vein is taken from his chest. His left leg is swelling a bit from day to day. He is trying to walk and do some exercise as per the direction from his phyisiotherapist. He can't stand using his left leg. He is trying to soak it using a solution of epsom salt and warm water. The feeling of the pain sometimes reduces when he change his direction of sitting. I appreciate your concern and would like to thank you in advance for your reply. His friend.

I have very small blood vessels. Would this be the only cause of peripheral vascular disease or would they contribute to it to a greater or lesser extent ?

Is there a way to stop a sudden increase in pulse rate, which can last for a few minutes, or up to a day? Accupuncture? Hyperventilation? A pill?

My brother is 14, 4'10, and 80 pounds. He went to the doctor yesterday to get a checkup to see why he hadnt hit his growth spurt and they found something wrong with his heart. They said that the vales (sp?) werent connected and all they have to do is give him bypass surgery and connect them. I think its bad, but my mom wont really tell me anything. All I want to know is can you die from bypass surgery or a percentage of chance you have to live. Something like that. And please no rude answers, Im worried. Thanks.

I am supposed to take 5 miligrams and the pharmacy gave me 100 miligrams, i noticed because the pills were so much larger than my normal pills. i did not take them. The Pharmacy is a state pharmacy. i guess i just need some feedback as to maybe hypethitically if i had taken it would it have stopped my heart? and shouldn't somebody be more responsible than to make such a huge mistake? thanks for any input.

My brother just passed away of an enlarged heart due to obsessive eating and drinking. He was just starting to get help but it was too late.

I guess I first noticed chest pain when I was 23 and at an amusement park. We had been walking all day and I noticed a sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my chest while we were walking that went away.

Probably a year later I experienced my first "heart flutter" -- it knocked the wind out of me and I felt like my heart stopped for a second. Many more followed after that over the years but it's always infrequent.

I went through a really rough break-up last year and my anxiety/depression really kicked in. I started getting them a lot to the point where I went to my family doctor because I was seriously afraid for my health. He put me on anti-anxiety meds and it all went away. It's the only reason I kinda believe it's not heart related.

I've recently come off all drugs and the chest pain, occasional heart flutters, etc. are back. But all my doctors tell me it's "just stress". My aunt has a heart murmur, my grandmother had 2 heart attacks and my father had a minor one..

Lately I have been getting quite severe chest pain, directly underneath my heart... it's sort of underneath my last rib on the left side of of my chest. It happens randomly although I was pushing my car last night and I suddenly got it... a really sharp pain that takes my breath away.

It hurts to breath and I have to wait til it goes away before I can move comfortably again.

I'm 19 years old and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be dying of heart disease YET!! I'm about 5'11, 173cm I think, I weigh 63 kgs which is about 138 pounds.

Is it some kind of angina? I'm kind of scared because both my grandfathers have died of heart disease!!!

My 19 year old Son went to the Doctor with a cough, and Chest Congestion. He was Diagnosed with Bronchitis and a little fluid in the Lungs (no X-rays were taken) he was prescribed Steroids, Antibiotics, and an Inhaler. 2 Days later he started Vomiting, had Diarreha, and Abdominal Cramps. our Family Doctor couldn't see him but said he should go to Hospital ER. We went there. after an X-ray and CAT Scan they said he had some kind of bladder infection they said it was retaining fluid and putting pressure on his Bowels. The gave him a Cathiter and kept him over night. at 2 A.M we get a call. he is having troble breathing and was transfered to CCU when we get there he asks the nurse why his heart is beating so fast. She said it was the medicine they gave him to wake him up. less than 2 Hours later he Died of an enlarged Heart. (I'm gonna run out of room. so i'll add more details. Please wait til you see it all toi answer)
