Well first of all when having high blood pressure you need to cut out you salty foods.... This will automatically make your blood pressure drop...But when you do this you need to start eating foods high in fiber or else you retain water....Secondly check out the DASH diet plan....Its a system made up for people that have high blood pressure....Heres a great site
http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/hbp/dash/introduction.html They even offer a weeks worth of meals you can eat so check it out.....

sugar has more effect on blood pressure than most people realize. the only thing i have found that returns my borderline high blood pressure to normal is a low-carb diet.

Food rich in sodium INCREASES blood pressure, while food high in MAGNESIUM decreases blood pressure.

(I've also read somewhere that magnesium helps in improving one's memory or something.)
