Talking about "Right Bundle Branch Block"...help, please!

Right bundle branch block means that the right bundle branch of cardiac electrical conduction is not working properly. It can show on an ECG/EKG (same thing) as an st shift. this means that the st segment seen on the electrical reading is not the width it should be and does not return to baseline. ST elevation during a MI is called a STE-MI or ST elevated Myocardial infarction. (sorry my spelling is horrid and my spell check on yahoo won't come up...) Now you probably haven't had an MI but you do show ECG changes. ( you would need far more than just an ECG to rule out MI. a T wave inversion just means that the T wave is deflecting off the base line in the wrong direction (to the bottom instead of to the top) Now this can be seen in old MI's and can also be seen in bundle branch blocks. Most patients i see with this have heart rate issues and typically require a pace maker. It just depends on the degree of the block and the health of the individual. Some conduction issues can be treated with medication, some with ablation, and some with pacemakers.

T wave inversion is not a good sign. Right Bundle Branch Block, however, is very benign, usually. It means you need to see a cardiologist.

ST elevation and T inversion indicate lessened blood supply and this blocked blood supply to bundle branches can cause heart blocks of any type.

ST segment depression = heart muscle ischemia (decreased blood supply to the heart)

ST segment elevation = heart muscle infarction

T wave inversion = a later sign on the ECG (the electrical recording of the heart) on heart muscle infarction...

if u really wanted to know...u should've asked u're Dr. cuz he/she would give u the best explaination, & knows better about u're condition.....he/she would be happy to give u the information u're looking for....

good luck :)
