First of all don't panic...just because your grandfather had heart disease doesn't mean that you will have it too.
Secondly, the doctors in the emergency room do nothing?? Are you sure on that? they don't examine you, perform tests like an ECG, echo, blood tests ect?
Remember that the most common causes of cardiac pain presenting at the ER are NOT cardiac...are you sure its not muscular pain, panic attacks and anxiety (you seem quite a bit anxious), acidity and reflux?
You need a doctor to check you properly and if you have a heart murmur (many people have benign murmurs which do not lead to heart disease) an echocardiogram might be a useful test to make.
However you didn't include what tests you have carried out, what the doctors tell you regarding the cause of the pain (if they dont tell u anything ask! its that simple)
Smoking is a risk factor to heart disease but it does not automatically lead to it.
As to chest pains in your 20s; i'm 22 and i get regular muscular pains in my chest, as do many of my friends, and its perfectly normal. Get checked before jumping to conclusions and good luck :)

Good job on cutting out the smoking and caffeine! Do you have a regular physician? It sounds like you need to get a thorough physical, for starters.
I'd also recommend the book Heal Your Heart: The New Rice Diet Program for Reversing Heart Disease through Nutrition, Exercise, and Spiritual Renewal, by Kitty Gurkin Rosati. I just recently read the book, and it had lots of great information for me. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and the Rice Diet has helped both tremendously. Whether you do the Rice Diet or not, I'd still recommend the book.

You may have a condition called Mitral Valve Prolapse which is a defect of one the heart's valves; instead of your valve having a tight closing, it's malformed and "floppy" causing the blood being pumped in and from the heart to leak. It often causes chest pains, fatigue, and discomfort...
If you smoke, well, that's just stupid...
Try and get insurance through Social Services or look for a program that offers medical assistance.

i as well don't have insurance and is dealing with the same thing at 22.... but my husbands cardiologist put me on low dose asprin 81mg. and told me to excersice daily and eat a heart healthy diet.... that should at least slow down or help the problem some... alot of your fatty foods and prepackaged meats are horrible for you. i would see if maybe an oragainzation or church could help in the cost of a cardiologist for you. otherwise well we are all the same you and i, no insurance and we have problems too not enough money and we just fall thru the cracks of this damn world.

You were smart to stop smoking. Congratulations!
Now, get a physical so you will know what exactly you are working with as far as your body is concerned. Since you are having these chest pains, yes you should see a cardiologist.
Some gentle exercise is in order. But don't work out too hard until you know what's going on with your heart.
Good luck!
