I recently got my blood pressure taken at my sister's house with an at home blood pressure monitor.. It says that my blood pressure is 131/90.. Is this something I should be concerned about? Will it go down soon? Do I need to go to the doctor to get it checked out real soon? Thanks!

I have been having discomfort in the chest area for about 2 years now (not consistently but once or twice a day, in different areas). Occasionally I have heart palipitaions. After a meal, I feel as if my heart is weaker than normal, and last year during a very cold and dark winter I was having this senstion almost consistantly. I am only 23 years old (male) and I the doctor has said that it's probably nothing even after an EKG. Still, I have been a smoker for 5 years and I have a family history of heart conditions. My uncle died last spring of a heart attack and my cousin who is in his mid 30's just had a mild heart attack (and survived) last week.

My question is could this be angina? Possibly all psychological? If not, what can I do to avoid the feeling (besides quiting smoking. I'm working on that one already.)?

I suffer from real bad anxiety and restlessness that seems to get worse every day. The symptoms are driving me so crazy that I can't lead a normal life anymore. My doctor says nothing's wrong, but I should have my heart checked out cause of palpitations and tachycardia. Maybe it's important to mention that all this started years ago. After I had my baby, which is 8 months ago it got SO bad! Everyone tells me the trouble is all stress-related, but can that be?
I feel like I can't breathe, my chest is tight, my back hurts and I'm like on speed or something all the time lol. And I can't exercise! No chest pain though.

I'm 30, f, and actually healthy. My thyroid/adrenals are ok, too. Could it be MVP? Or is it all just in my head?I have an appointment at the cardio in 2 more weeks..

Please help!!

I was reading about some woman who was having jaw ache and pains across her chest and it turns out that she was about to have a massive heart attack.

The thing is since tuesday i have had jaw ache and for quite while i have been having strange feelings across my body especially in my breast. and i'm really worrying now. I keep on having headaches. I don't know whether im being irrational or am i on the right track. I know my life is crappy (X 10000) right now, but i don't want to die without my mum knowing how much i love her. So what is happening with me? Should i worry or is this nothing to worry about? Please help me

1/. My liver count is 2000 when it should be 50 from binge drinking which I don't do anymore. Does having an epeleptic fit for about 2 minutes give you brain damage or will it repair.

2/. Will my liver go back to normal if I dont drink anymore and will my brain not feel so vague.

3/. How long should I stay off the alcohol for or should I never drink it again.

4/. Does binge drinking give you permanent brain damage if I have vitamin B (Thimine) every day. Thankyou.

I recently had an ekg and the doctor said it was borderline. The explanation given did not really make it any easier to understand. Just need to know what the test measures.

My Dad has been on anti-statin(sp?) medications, Crestor being one of them, and 2 others, and had bad reactions, MUSCLE WEAKNESS, FATIQUE, TIRED, LEGS GIVING OUT ON HIM. He was a very active healthy man until he took these cholesterol lowering drugs, and now he is very ill. My nieghbor has had the same problems, and the muscles haven't come back. My dad and my nieghbor were very active people and now have no energy, their muscles hurt, legs give out, and they are tired all the time, and feel aweful. Do you know of anyone who has had these problems from these medicines and what was done to help them? My Parent has been off these cholesterol lowering drugs for 2 years, and has not gotten his strength back. he used to jog, walk faster than I could keep up with him, and now he cannot even take the dog for a walk. What hope is their out there for our loved ones who have taken these medications? What treatment worked for people you know. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. thank you.

I don't usually take any nasal decongestants, but seriously, I couldn't breathe, and my doc said that it was okay to take while pregnant.

It's made me a nervous wreck, though, and I can't sleep. My heart feels like it's slamming up against my chest wall, and my chest hurts a little.

Has anyone else had this happen while pregnant? Was it just a side-effect, or was there anything really wrong?

my husband has heart disease since 1992,triple by-pass,in 2002 he had a heart attack,a stent was put in,now he recently had a stress test an Dr. told him "one side of his heart was not getting enough oxygen" so he's going into hospital on fri.He is so tired of being sick,(he just finished radiation for prostate cancer) all we do is argue because he's so frustated,I understand he keeps telling me he isn't the same man anymore,he is giving up an no matter what I say to him to lift his spirits it doesn't help,(he knows a lot about med. he has been in OR'S several times during his career (no he's not a doctor) should have been,he was a design engineer for a lg.med corp.So he knows what he might be faced with.Question is he doesn't talk too me about it he just gets moody an argues,I know he must be scared because I am,has anyone ever heard about this cond.an do you think he needs another by-pass? (they usually don't last after 10 yrs.He refused to let me go to the Drs. when he got results.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and put on Zestoretic, which brought it nicely down to usually in the 110-120 / 70-80 range. I've lost about 28 lbs since then.

I just checked my BP again, and it had a reading of 103 / 68.

Should I alert my doctor if I get more readings like this, so he can adjust the medication? Or are readings like that perfectly OK?
