I am 39 years of age. My blood pressure is 90/145. I am under medication. I have changed my life style a lot, changed my job to less stressfull one, have been doing cardio vascular excercise from the past 8 months. My diet is also very controlled. Despite all these efforts, my blood pressure does not come down.

Please suggest something.

I have been checked over by two doctors that say there is nothing wrong with my heart and blood pressure.I was sick for about three weeks with a bad flu.My doctor knew about this and im pretty much over whatever it was. While i was laid up my heart rate never got that high.so Im used to having a low heart rate.Although I have been found not to have heart problems ,when I get out bed my heart rate goes up and i get scared to do very much althouth it always goes back down I get worried about doing anything. My doctors have told me to keep buy and get out and I have a fiend that is a nurse that is in the same position .She says get out and do things.i have lost my conifidence and scared to go to town or get out and do things.I am afraid that my heart will fail me.I never felt this way until I started hearing my heartbeat which is a benign condition due to weight loss.yes I have seen a specailist .he said the same .i feel safest in bed,and dont know why ,How do I get my confidence back ?

My raw cholesterol numbers are not that bad. 190 total and 115 LDL, and I have some buildup in my coronary arteries. I took a statin for a year.......NOTHING, no difference. Quit the statin on my own and started taking flush free niacin, lowered total C to 165, LDL to 85. HDL still in the toilet. I do some aerobic and some weight training exercises, no difference. As I understand, raisin HDL is extremely difficult. Pfizer just gave up on Torcetrapib after sinking hundreds of millions into the project. Any good suggestions besides the typical snake oil remedies. I'm asking for 1st person experience, please.

My father is on a cocktail of high blood pressure medications (Norvasc, Lisinopril, Terazosin, Triamterene, Probenecid, Atenolol, Amiodrarone and Coumadin) but also has, for years, had trouble sleeping through the night. In fact, he tends to only get about two to three hours of sleep.

He had been taking Tylenol PM to help him sleep, and it was working, but I pointed out that the active compound in that, (essentially benedryl) probably doesn't mix well with the meds that he is on. He's going to go visit his doctor soon to see about some sort of prescription that he could try, but does anyone have any suggestions for us? He's in desperate need of something...

Thanks for the help!

I have recently had a blood test result with low sodium and low calcium results. My Dr. had me retake the test just to double check it. I have also recently tested with a high blood pressure 135/94 - Not significantly high, but I am usually spot on and this is the first time I have been high. I have not been able to find much on what this might mean. Anyone have experience with this?

My daughter who is 13 while undergoing a routine check was found to have a noise in her heart like a murmur, she is going for a heart echo in jan, but then last night she started to feel faint, dizzy and shaky and her heart was pumping so fast and hard we could see it in her chest. I did ring the doctor who said sometimes this can be a side effect of a murmour but she has not been diagnosed with anything yet, just that she has a whooshing noise in her heart, im happy that this is probably a murmour and that that is common but what are these new side effects and is that something more serious i thought if it were just a murmour there were not really any side effects and she would lead a normal life, but these frighten her, so im worried its more serious.
Please let me say she is going to have this investigated, i know to contact the doc, please dont say that, what im looking for is anyone with experiance who may be able to tell me whats happening. Thanks so much and merry xmas xx

Up to 09/05 I had some clogged arteries BUT also had excellent COLLATERAL formation which helped me manage quite well. never was on any heart meds. I took my BP meds, though. then 09/05 car struck me - I was badly hurt, in the ICU I had MASSIVE MI in all segments. Put on respirator for days. Hospital never mentioned to me about the MI or respirator, I found out later from visitors. No cardiology F/UP was given. Months later I had tibial fracture mended with external fixation. Rods later removed, holes in skin & bone scabbed, MD pronounced them closed. Now since 1 mo. ago, I have severe left ventricular dysfunction, global hypokinesis, ejection fraction is +50% - One fixator hole now oozes streams of cold clear water (no blood) day & night - soaking my socks, shoes & pants & NON-stop. I have bad chest pains on exertion & outside in cold. I believe maybe I'm losing water faster than I can replace it -yet I am nauseous, cough endlessly, and am swollen with water, in limbs. Help.

I am currently taking medication, but this still concerns me. My Dr. says to worry only about the average, but it seems the first reading would be a more real life situation.
