I am 20 years old and my doctor thinks there is a slight chance that I have mitral valve prolapse.

I know you can easily look up the signs/symptoms of this on a medical website (and I have), but I'm asking more about individual symptoms that maybe wouldn't automatically be thought of as related to this condition.

If you suffer from this, what were your signs/symptoms before being officially diagnosed? Also, are you taking any medications for it, or getting any treatments?

Thanks..

My mother suffers from chest pain, maybe from the heart for a very long time now. This happens when she is depressed or sad and angry. This dissapears when she rest for a while after the anger or depression. Also, when she exerts physical effort like going u the stairs going to the fourth floor. She takes a beta-blocker whenever she fells pain (medicines ending in "olol").Someimes, the pain may last for a week then dissapears. Her last doctor visit was about 8 years ago. She is a stubborn kind of person who seems to be very busy for that. She is 49 years old, working in our store. Her is moderate, not so heavy. What must be done for this? What can I do o make her subject herself to examination? Could this develop in sudden Myocardial Infarction and sudden death?

I'm taking Valtrex for my eye problem that has persisted since I had facial shingles in July! 1000 mg. 2 times a day and it's been 14 days now. I have a 30 day supply. After 1 week I started having heart palpitations off and on during the day and even when I waken at night, it's very noticeable. I take medication for that (the doctor says it's common). It has been under control with the medication but since I've been on this Valtrex, it's been occurring often. Any thoughts? thanks.
I did look up the side effects and didn't see that it was listed.

My brother just had heart surgery so as you can imagine, he's been home for a long time. But he's been sitting on the couch almost 95% of the time. He told me he has been itching a lot. Do you know if he could have hives from sitting on the couch too long. I'm mostly talking to doctors!

I am mid-age guy. Auto ran me down badly. It caused a massive heart attack in all segments of my heart. Now I have severe congestive heart failure. I tried Rx diuretics, the strongest, no success yet. CArdiologist says no remedies to revitalize dead heart muscle. I don't want a heart transplant. I refuse to go back to hospital. My ejection fraction is +50%.
If my heart muscle so damaged forever, then people like me, can they ever overcome the fluid retention?? My right leg oozes from a spot on skin, streams of clear water from inside my body, DRENCHING my clothes 24/7. I have little water to urinate, since it's spilling out my leg day & night. I gasp with angina if climb stairs or exertion. Does anyone know cases like me who improved & live semi-normally after the huge attack? Doctors have no magic wand to cure me - no specific remedies. I'm losing all hope for my life. Cardiologists have no special cures for me, they say this is my fate.

Occasionally I have experienced chest pains that felt like a squeezing on my heart, but they were brief and not accompanied by anything else. However, yesterday I started having chest pains again and they just came and went all day. I also was having some difficulty taking breaths and would find myself trying to take a deep breath very often. It worsened when I went to lay down last night, so I just sat up all night. Today the symptoms are still bothersome and accompanied by an ache in the center of my chest and upward. I’m female and 20 years old, and my mother’s side has a history of heart related health issues. If anyone could shed some light on what I could do for this, it would be much appreciated. Also, I just went off of my parent’s health insurance… so I would like to avoid needlessly going to the hospital/doctor if at all possible. Thank you in advance! :)
