A 57 year-old woman experienced a CVA (cerebrovascular accident or stroke). Her symptoms which include motor deficiencies in her right arm and leg, were corrected by a technique that involved catherization and removal of an embolus from the left middle cerebral artery. The medical team went right into unblocking the artery without any x-rays and MRIs. This has to be because it's a common area for blockage, but does anyone know why?

My heart rate is really slow. Its stays around 50. A doctor told me she wished hers was that low and that just meant my heart didn't have to work as hard.

Is that true? Or do I have a weak heart. Just looking for a 2nd opion.

I am slim build, work out, not overweight, eat sensibly, have low blood pressure and my chlorestrol was 7.3 at the last test. and the doctor has suggested statins. As I prefer hoemoepathic remedies, I am reluctant to go the statin route. I am already taking plant sterols. I have just had another test and I am awaiting the results and the doctor said if it was less than 6.8 my health is at risk. Can anybody help?

Reciently, my grandpa who lives with my crazy aunt, was experiencing some bad headaches, and when he got up last night he had lightheadedness and fainted. Now he is in the hospital and his heart seems to pause. His liver count is low.
He is 85 and diabetic, but he was reciently in to see the Dr. for an exam and he was diagnosed as being primarely healthy. What is going on?

My husband had 3 stents put in arteries a week ago. He was sent home with about seven prescriptions, but none of them were anti-biotics. He has been running a low grade fever since day two. When we called the cardiologist, he said that we should worry until his fever reached 101.5 and then we should go immediately to the ER. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know anything about it? Also, incredibly after the procedure and even with blood pressure meds, his bottom number is stayng in the 90s?
