Will this combination lower blood pressure below normal? I intend to take 2 EDTA capsules a day. I am currently taking Enalapril Maleate (20 mg) once a day. Please advise me. Thank you.

There have been no studies of EDTA in conjunction with antihypertensive medication. Strongly suggest you consult your cardiologist before trying to combine the two.

EDTA is typically used as a chelating agent. To be honest it is probably not a good idea to mix it with most drugs because we don't for sure what it will chelate. But if it DID chelate the Vasotec, then most likely your blood pressure would go UP not down (although it is unlikely that it does). And the other thing to consider is that we don't know how much EDTA is being absorbed although 400mg is a high dose, so there might be some getting absorbed.
If you ask a doctor for advice, they will probably tell you that chelation therapy is bogus. I'm sorry, but I don't see enough evidence myself to encourage it, and considering we don't know for sure how it will affect the Vasotec (and neither will a doctor), you might consider saving your money. Who knows what HARM it may end up doing?

That's a good question... It seems like it would be an awful lot to me, but maybe I'm wrong. Let us know :)
