My husband had 3 stents put in arteries a week ago. He was sent home with about seven prescriptions, but none of them were anti-biotics. He has been running a low grade fever since day two. When we called the cardiologist, he said that we should worry until his fever reached 101.5 and then we should go immediately to the ER. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know anything about it? Also, incredibly after the procedure and even with blood pressure meds, his bottom number is stayng in the 90s?

Stenting/PTCA doesnt cause fever. The worst case happen (but its rare) is when the stent get blocked. Few people might feel a bit of chest pain or uncomfortable; it will goes away. The arteries inside are healing-it takes time. Go for a walk/ easy exercise 2weeks-1month after the stenting and control ur husband diet.
As for the BP, it takes time for the medication to work. High BP are either inherited or built up after a long time...it takes time for the medication to work too. Cut down on fry foods and salt intake, it will gradually goes down too.
Im working as a cardiac technician so i hope my advice helps
