my husband has heart disease since 1992,triple by-pass,in 2002 he had a heart attack,a stent was put in,now he recently had a stress test an Dr. told him "one side of his heart was not getting enough oxygen" so he's going into hospital on fri.He is so tired of being sick,(he just finished radiation for prostate cancer) all we do is argue because he's so frustated,I understand he keeps telling me he isn't the same man anymore,he is giving up an no matter what I say to him to lift his spirits it doesn't help,(he knows a lot about med. he has been in OR'S several times during his career (no he's not a doctor) should have been,he was a design engineer for a lg.med corp.So he knows what he might be faced with.Question is he doesn't talk too me about it he just gets moody an argues,I know he must be scared because I am,has anyone ever heard about this cond.an do you think he needs another by-pass? (they usually don't last after 10 yrs.He refused to let me go to the Drs. when he got results.

Hi, im working in a cardiac department and i hope i can help you with my advice. Based on the treadmill, it showed that he has blockage in the right coronary artery (RCA). How bad it is, we wont know until he ho for catheter (coronary angiogram). He has triple by pass surgery before and in 2002 a stent was put in. Tell your hubby that catheter will only last for 30 mins (for a competent cardiologist) and it can be done through the hand instead of legs.
But you wont find out how bad it is until you go, so its very important for him to get it check.
Triple by-pass can last 10-up to 20 years, it depends on individual, family hisory of life disease and lifestyle too.

Support ur hubby to be strong and please go for at least coronary angiogram (cathether) to put both of ur mind in ease.
All the best.

I can relate to your husband's condition. Last week I went to see my cardiologist and had an ECG ran and he discovered a "flutter" in the upper chamber. I have had "Antrial Fibulation for several years also. I was going into the hospital and see another Dr. that does the "electrocardigraphy" to shock the heart back into normal rythumn. The "flutter" was keeping me very tired, short of breath, and all I wanted was not ever get out of bed. I think some
call this a "cardioversion". I asked the Dr. what if you make it worse; then he said we will have to do an "Oblasion". That is when they go inside your heart with an electrobe, or laser and zap" the nerve that is causing the flutter. I said thanks, but no thanks. I told my cardiologist before you make me an appointment with this other specialist let me drop by and have another strip run of my heart. He agreed, and I was back into rhythumn, but will have this A-Fib and will have to go through the "oblasion" for this condition as well; that is sooner or later, and that is no cure all.

I understand that your husband has to be aggrivated, as I am with myself. I also have prostate cancer, dietbetics, with accute anxiety, and that does not help my heart one bit. The cardiologist told me that I look to good physically to have these problems hit all at once, and they did. Tell your husband. Good luck, and I will think of him...Rody
