A lot of people get this as we get older, however this is not normal. The "flutters" are either irregular beats (atrial fibrilation) or the acceleratation for a brief amount of time (tachycardia or more like PAT) and then the "bubble" feeling is a ventricular beat as the heart tries to reset itself back to normal. So yes, you should see a doctor to be thorougly tested. They will run and EKG, a stress test, and an echocardiogram. Take your HEART seriously, any abnormal symptoms need to be checked out. Especially heart pain. And if your symptoms get worse, check yourself into ER.

It sounds like a mitral valve prolapse. My husband has that, and it is very common and non life threatening. It usually only bothers him when he's lying down. But please don't take my word for it. See your doctor! By the way, my spell-checker isn't working on here today, and I hope I've spelled this correctly.

You are either in love or you need to see a doctor immediately.

I agree with DannyK! If you're not in love, you better find yourself a doctor!
