I have been having chect pains off and on...more on then off, for the last 3-4 days. The pain goes down my right arm and under my armpit. It scares me but I figured if it was real serious I would have dropped over by now. Has any one else ever had this happen to them?

I'm concerned about not being able to go back to work. I do home medical equipment delivery and I have to lift up to 170 lbs. on a daily basis. Has anyone been up this creek before? Also, what was the recovery time before you felt strong and yourself again. I will be 60 next June and I'm not ready or financially ready to throw in the towel yet.

This just doesn't seem like a normal thing to me.I have had two doctors one a vascular ent and another doctor tell me ..Its benign.. Cause weight loss and no padding. They said heart is sound,no blockages, and blood pressure fine..I also know three nurses that are veterans that say the samething..Could this possibly be true..it just doesn't seem possible that this could be nomal .I hear it a lot. I have had my ears checked and everything.nothing wrong..I hear it coming from the back of my neck ..pounding alot and it seems worse when my ears are stopped up or feeling weird then there are days that I barley hear it..Im sure its coming from somewhere outside my head and when I lie still fairly flat I hear it for awhile at night but subsides most nights..Its pretty constant..hearing it everyday day.I don't think that there has been a day that i havent heard it in six months..If it were something sinister wouldn't there have been something bad happen by now..they all couldnt be wrong? or ?

My lab results (fasting) are:
CHOL 223
HDL 41
LDL 149
TRIG 164

My Dr. recommended health diet/exercise, but did not recommend cholesteral lowering medications.

Should he have?

There is ONLY ONE TYPE of cholesterol. Cholesterol itself. It is ONE substance, NOT 2.

ONE SUBSTANCE.

Cholesterol is technically a SOLID ALCOHOL. www.ravnskov.nu/myth1.htm

HDL is NOT cholesterol at all

LDL is NOT cholesterol at all

HDL and LDL are "cholesterol's cars" . They are LIPOPROTEINS that carry cholesterol around

HDL carries cholesterol BACK to the liver FOR RECYCLING

LDL takes this recycled cholesterol and CARRIES IT FROM THE LIVER TO THE TISSUES.

They are BOTH VERY VERY IMPORTANT .

The distinction between these two lipoproteins as being either "good " or "bad" is a COMPLETE HOAX.

Why so much lying in the media????????

I have irregular heart beats which can lead to periods of tachycardia with hypertension and ventricular arrhythmias.

I stood up twice today and felt dizzy.
Blood pressure when sitting down was about 115/75, pulse 66.
Standing up, it siad 117/78, pulse 75.

This should mean that the heart is working fine and that this is just the carotid pressure that is the problem.

This is an uncommon occurance, but happened twice today.

As of late i have been dealing with a very bad arm pain (left) that at first i believed to be muscle. It has been 5 days now and the pain is still there. I have had slight chest pain and pressure in my chest, but not at the same time as my arm pains. I have been checked for the chest pressure and pains, but two seperate ER's told me that it was non-specific chest pain. I have also had an ekg and a stress test that both confirm a negative for any heart problems. I realize that my age plays a huge role in why i am more then likely not having congestive heart problems, but still i worry about the possibilities. With that said i was also wondering if anyone could tell me the relation between high blood pressure and high cholestrol, if any. Both my blood pressure and cholestrol are well below normal, on a rare exception however my blood pressure does fluctuate to about 159/80 but immedietly goes back to 128/74. Am i right to still believe that my pains are due to some heart trouble
