What are the various stages?
When can steps be climbed?
When can driving resume?
When can work usually be resumed?
When do you start feeling reasonably normal again?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi there,
Let me start by saying that I am 20 years old, I occasionally smoke and drink (the latter being very occasionally) and I am overweight.

I have been experiencing chest pain for a long time now, predominantly over the left hand side. best desribed as a fluttering sensation. Recently I have also been experiencing a pain in the center of my chest. The pains are not contant, they occur primarily when I am resting.

I have had 4 ECGs done, 3 in the last month, and all have been fine. A Dr also manually listened to my heart and breathing and this was again fine. I am currently suffering from suspected gastritis for which I am taking 20mg omeprazole and I am waiting on H Pylori test results.

In addition to the chest pain, I get pains in my left arm, not shooting but rather I will get a pain around my bicep/tricep, it will disappear then I will get pain in my forearm and wrist, with tingling in my hand. My breathing remains fine throughout.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Amit

My doctor recommends that I have my thyroid gland removed because of a benign but large cold nodule. I am physically very active and I am worried that the replacement thyroxine will make me tired and that it may have other side effects too. Anyone out there who has undergone through thyroid surgery before?
I would like doctors opinion but mostly patients sharing their personal experience.

I had a heart ablation in late November that was not completely successful but am on new meds that control the tachycardia for the most part. I have occasional chest pain a few times a week and although I miss working out, I am anxious to being because I do not want to aggravate my heart or trigger tachycardia or pain. I walk but have yet to return to jogging or the elliptical or lifting weights. Should I be worried to start working out again and how much can I do besides walking? If anyone has ideas or similar experiences, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Had some chest pains tonight and went to the ER. Was not sure if it was my heart or my anxiety problem that occurs pretty frequent. It turned out to be chest pains from brochitis. It was inflamed. While there they took 2 blood pressure readings, one was a little high and one was like 143/103 which I know is quite high. I was REALLY worked up and REALLY nervous about what was wrong with me tonight. Could that be why my BP was up? I am going to the doctor tommorrow but I am kind of worried tonight. I am hoping it was "white coat syndrome". Does this happen to anyone else?

My character is taking 100 mgs of Carbatrol, which in rare cases reduces red and white blood cells, so was recommended to a hematologist. How does the appointment work in this situation?

where is the best place for treatment? I have looked at several hospitals online, but who is the best. Money is no object, just the best care for my child. Even if outside of the United States.

I was told I have a very slight one (the doctor can only tell its their when I am lying down) She says it is so slight and I probably had it since birth, that it most likely nothing (though we are having it tested this summer, better safe than sorry) but what exactly IS it? something about extra blood in your heart?

Please answer only if you are a MD or if you YOURSELF have severe CHF &*edema.after an MI. I developed massive MI after car struck me, my ejection fraction today is 50%. Recently my body is swelling badly with ascites, leg & ankle swelling to point of severe pain from pressure inside tissues. I have severe left ventricular dysfunction & severe global hypokinesis. short of a heart transplant, I understand my condition is chronic, progressive & due to damaged heart pump unable to circulate blood well, so that return blood backs up into tissues & organs. I tried many diuretics, Hydrochlorothiazide worked poorly, inducing urination far less than a cup of coffee. Lasix & loop diuretics worked not at all. Cardiologists have no magic wand to cure my dilemna. They rely on Diuretics so much to expel edema. but cause is cardiac damage. I restrict fluids now & sodium, with little effect. I am nauseous & am bloated horribly in my tissues. My bloodwork is normal. Observations??

My husband was put on medication in October for his blood pressure. Since then (and through 2 different meds) he sleeps all the time, has anxiety attacks, lightheadedness and is generally stoned acting all the time.

Has anyone else gone through this and is there light at the end of the tunnel? I need him back helping with our lives and business.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My doc has been monitoring my blood pressure because over the last year my first number has been around 140. I am not overweight, but have gained about 20-30 pounds over the last couple years. My doc says I need to lose 20 pounds, and wants me to do this before prescribing meds (I am young to be having blood pressure issues). I am cutting my calorie intake and excercising more, but was wondering if there wwere specific foods known to help reduce blood pressure. My resting heart rate is awesome, as is my cholesterol.

I went to my cardiologist today and he found out why I am having problems with my heart rate. He said I have two natural pacemakers, or SA nodes in my heart. I am going to have an ablasion done to get rid of the one that is not supposed to be there and my doc said this was a rare condition. I can't find any info about it on the internet and I was wondering if this is something you are born with or if it just happens. If anyone knows the answer to my question or a site I can find out more about my condition on I would be very thankful!
