Hi there,
Let me start by saying that I am 20 years old, I occasionally smoke and drink (the latter being very occasionally) and I am overweight.

I have been experiencing chest pain for a long time now, predominantly over the left hand side. best desribed as a fluttering sensation. Recently I have also been experiencing a pain in the center of my chest. The pains are not contant, they occur primarily when I am resting.

I have had 4 ECGs done, 3 in the last month, and all have been fine. A Dr also manually listened to my heart and breathing and this was again fine. I am currently suffering from suspected gastritis for which I am taking 20mg omeprazole and I am waiting on H Pylori test results.

In addition to the chest pain, I get pains in my left arm, not shooting but rather I will get a pain around my bicep/tricep, it will disappear then I will get pain in my forearm and wrist, with tingling in my hand. My breathing remains fine throughout.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Amit

You could have costochondritis. I have it too. It happens to a lot of people. It's an inflammation of the cartilege in your chest area. It usually subsides after awhile. Just make sure it's not truly a heart problem.

Wow. It turns out like your describing whatever very similar to what I skilled as a child and once in a while as an grownup. I get the ones achy, sharp agony in my chest / rib subject. Often the agony is moderate however many times it is so unhealthy I can barley take a breath. It additionally feels love it begins on the backside of my rib cage after which travels up my facet because it slowly is going away. I used to be advised via my healthcare professional it used to be "developing" pains. Then whilst I used to be older, I introduced it up once more and he mentioned it would be a muscle junk mail. It's been months considering the fact that I've had one. With me, the agony simplest final a couple of seconds and on the so much a minute or 2. They additionally simplest appear to occur a few times in an afternoon whilst i do have them. I could endorse that in the event that they arise extra in general, a couple of occasions in an afternoon I'd see any person approximately it. It would be not anything or it would be whatever (sort of noticeable reply).

I am happy to hear that you have been doctoring for the chest pains. They are not giving you any diagnosis on what is causing it yet? I would continue to pursue tests until a determination can be made. Doesn't sound like anything you want to fool around with.

Now, the hand pain, could that be carpal tunnel? Best of luck in your search to find out what the problems are.

Cliche, but do you exercise? I don't drink/smoke and am somewhat overweight and get some of the same problems. I think mostly because I do not exercise, sit at a desk 12 hours a day. My chese pains though are sometimes caused from heartburn due to the foods I eat or how fast I drink hot drinks.

Hi, do you have diabetes? or have you been tested for it? Ask your Dr. for a treadmill test they can do it the regular way or chemically induced. If you do not have a heart Dr. I would get one. The next step should your treadmill test show that you need one is a heart cath which will show how the blood flows to and from the heart.
This should help rule out heart problems.
good luck!
