I've been on bisoprolol(5mg) for 3 years increased to 10mg 6 months ago. 8 days ago I stopped taking the bisoprolol (on Doctor Advise). Prior to going off bisoprolol, my pulse averaged around 70 bp 130/80. Since then my pulse has averaged 98, bp 150/90. I was on bisoprolol for bp, I've never had a high pulse. Will the effects if abruptly stopping bisoprolol go away? Or should I be concerned?

I can't really relax or calm down. I'm having heart palpitations, and I just keep sitting here at the computer typing away. I constantly go to myspace, facebook, and this site. I don't know why I feel so panicky. Maybe it's because I had 3 pepsi's today? I can't go outside and jog or anything because there is an ice storm. I don't want to work out in here because it might be bad for my heart. Is there anything I can do to calm myself down? I don't have any alcohol in the house either.

My blood pressure is sky high.
Please give me some tips on bringing it down.
I am 48, and not overweight. Excercise regularly, and try to eat a lot of vegetables.
Salt intake is at minimum. Thanks.

I am researching cases for my father who went through a botched angioplasty. The Cardiologist blew his artery and killed my father. A different Cardiovascular Dr. performed a double by-pass and brought my father back to life. My father has a pending malpractice case against the Cardiologist who blew out his artery. I would like to know if there are Dr.s who will give expert testimony and provide depositions for my father.

Dr. is now sending me to a lung Dr. because the tach. isn't coming from my heart, something else is causing it.
I have unexplained coughing, shortness of breath, very low blood pressure, 102/60, heart rate is 58 but can go to 90 just climbing up the stairs, chest pains, lightheaded, nauses, sometimes it feels like a head rush, and I'm tired all the time.
I do have MS, however, I do know the difference between what is going on NOW.
I'm worried about PE after reading the question submitted :"what effect would a pulmonary embolism have on pressure within the cardiovascular system?"
It's hard because I'm a very active person and the smallest thing sends my heart rate up. Sometimes I'm afraid to go to sleep.
Could this indeed be PE? Thanks
