Unfortunately, myocarditis has a highly unpredictable long term pronosis. Some recover fully, some develop heart failure, and some will only survive with a transplant. Only CLOSE followup with a reputable cardiologist will tell.

Irishmom is correct. The course is highly variable and unpredictable. In general, recovery is slow (maximal recovery occurs in 6-24 months). Recovery is *usually* incomplete (i.e., the heart does not return to normal).
